I have it all planned and I already went dress shopping. Got the very first dress I ever tried on. I've bought some decorations and stuff. We aren't getting married until March. We're waiting to interview until December because I was already going to Russia in December to meet his family. We're just consolidating trips to be more financially smart. I just want to be able to start paying for stuff in full. I want to be able to finalize stuff. I want to be able to buy more without fear it will go to waste because we won't be getting married here. It's just driving me crazy. But you're right..as soon as we get that yes, we'll be flying back together & then it's go time. Because we'll only have 2 months before our wedding date. But I thrive under pressure & can't wait! Andrey says you have to go along like what you want will happen. Don't have any doubt in your mind that you won't get it. That makes it easier to bear but harder wedding-wise because if I act like we're already approved, I could be wasting thousands of dollars if we aren't. Catch-22!

That is awesome! It is such a wonderful feeling even to make small plans. My wedding is pretty much ready to go just waiting for details to secure a venue. Someone in place to do my cake, pictures, ect ect. I'm having family and friends help with everything so it makes it more flexible for planning purposes. The only thing is the venue which is clearly out of my control. We aren't planning to get married until April so we are right behind you. It would be great if he secures his interview by December even january. We will be on track at least. The way it seems it may take two months for the actual inter view so, if we got approved end of this month it would be perfect . He has four or six months to use visa once issued?

6 as far as I know. Some have said it is tied to the medical exam date but I know ours isn't. It's really hard being the girl & the USC when it comes to wedding stuff. We just got in an argument about the wedding because he doesn't believe I should be planning anything because we don't even have the first approval. Kinda in tears as I write this because he doesn't think the wedding is important yet. It really hurts my feelings to be told that.

Aww that makes me sad too.. He will appreciate your diligence in the end. We as women naturally plan and are very organized.. How God made us. It will all be appreciated in the end.

do not get me wrong ... I think I just want to protect you from further suffering if you are denied the petition (which will not happen because God first be approved) and not suffer for not making the wedding on the dates . :luv:

We are planning to have our wedding in May(just reserved the venue), although I'm confident she will be here by the end of winter. We will be legally married by the time of the ceremony, but it seemed like the best way to go given the circumstances.

Called the wedding off, yes. But we'll still go to the JP. I just can't handle the stress of having to plan it but not having any support because it's "too soon" and we should "handle our problems in order" meaning deal with the petition being approved & getting approved at the interview. I've cried more during this process than I have in my whole life.

What is JP? This makes me so sad. Maybe you guys should take maybe a couple days to sort your feelings out? I know it can be stressful . I know you both love each other and often the stress with this entire process gets to is at times. I hope you can work things out.

I planned my first wedding in only four months because I was pregnant and didn't want to be showing too much. So I called every venue in town and found the right one. It was small and beautiful. My first marriage didn't work out, and having been through some really difficult things makes me realize how small the ceremony is in the scope of spending lives together. That being said, every girl deserves a chance to plan her big day. It can be empowering and magical to become a true bride - and we should never deprive ourselves of that no matter what stage in life we are. I've decided to go to a justice of the peace (that's JP) when my fiancé enters on his visa. We won't wait the full 90 days. We are ready to get the spousal visa underway (assuming this K-visa and RFE works out). However, we are going to plan our ceremony at our leisure together:). I want a handfasting in England with flower wreaths and ancient trees. Why not let ourselves dream? Isn't part of our love lives the joy we get in dreaming together and sharing the fascinating parts of one another's cultures? Meagan - don't give up on your wedding day. I think what Andrey is saying is that you have to separate the JP and paperwork from your actual blissful day. It will still be just as beautiful if it is in a different sequence of events. If he loves you, he won't deprive you of that - but the bureaucracy requires patience and order first. Sending a hug.

*phew* wiping my sweat away. I feel a bit better now. I thought you guys were calling everything off as if you will not be a couple anymore. You are just saying planning a big wedding. As was stated above every girl (princesses as we are) has had a dream of a gazillion of her wedding day and should not be deprived of that perfect day so, make it happen stress and all! hehe
