Over 2 weeks since I responded to the RFE, and still on "Review" status.

Should I start freaking out? :(

No! Don't freak out. Someone said that, the online updates are not as accurate. Just hang tight and wait.

That's great news! Did you get an email/text message about that, or did you first see it on your case status online? The reason I ask is because I wonder if it is even necessary for me to check my case status online, or if I should just wait for the emails. I read some people said they never got any emails/text messages after their NOA notifications, even though their case status changed online.

Just an FYI for you guys - to get the continual email/text updates you need to register a portfolio/account on the USCIS website and add your case #'s to it and choose to get ongoing updates.

Sign up here:

https://egov.uscis.gov/cris/jsps/selectusertype.jsp

Then add your case numbers.

07.14.14 (Day 0) I-485, I-130, I-765 mailed to Chicago Lockbox.

Thank you for the advice, already signed up when I received my NOA's back in August. But I've read some VJ'ers posts who never got any emails/texts even after doing that, so I was curious if that is very common. Guess I'll just keep waiting for emails and keep checking my case online as well :)

you can apply to any job if you want with the EAD card. It is valid until USCIS makes a decision on your AOS. Once you get your green card, you no longer need the EAD card because a green card holder is allowed to work for any employer.

With your EAD you need to now apply for your social security number, once you have your social security number you are able to work. Your social security will state on it Valid with DHS authorization only (which is your EAD). Once you receive your green card you cant get that statement removed from your social security card.hope this helps.

Update! This has been a great week but confusing as well. On Monday I got text messages and email stating that my EAD was in production as of 10/6, this morning I got 3 more text messages stating my EAD card was sent to production 10/7, this evening I got an update on my I485, stating that it was ready for interview. I am happy but also confused about the 2 separate texts for EAD. I hope everyone gets good news soon. This was fast!
