Hello! I am an American citizen filing a K1 visa for my French fiance. I am worried that I don't make enough money for the Affidavit of Support... Also I have spent the past year in France with no income to show for it... Now I have a steady job working at a daycare but its only been for two weeks. I just want to know exactly what documents are required in the initial petition for the I-134. I have seen different things from different sources such as tax returns or bank statements... And if I do decide to have a co sponsor, which I think I will as my mom said she would do it, what forms does she need to fill out and what supporting evidence and other documents does she need to provide???? Again I am only at the initial petition phase, just want to make sure I have the correct documents for everything.

Thanks!!!

Kerri

Take a look at this website:

Under "Supporting Evidence" it will list the different kinds of documents you can provide them with the I-134.

I just finished filing my I-134 and sent it over to my fiance in Serbia. My parents were co-sponsors. As for myself, I do have income so I provided them with a bank statement indicating when my account was open, the total amount currently in my savings/checking, and my bank printed out a list of the last 6 months of deposits. I also had my job write out a statement which indicated when I started that job and that I am still currently employed. I also printed out the last 3 checks from that job. I had my parents do the same exact thing as well, from both their bank and their jobs. In you situation, I would have your job write out a statement that you just started and that it is a permanent job and also provide them with any checks that you've received. If you haven't received any, ask your manager to write down your salary in that statement as well. Also, if you do get your mother to be a co sponsor, she will need to separately fill out the form I-134.

Hope it was helpful!

Good luck!
