Thanks again laddu. DO you think I will keep calling nvc for interview schedule or wait for further notice? Our priority date is way past current by the way.

keep calling them at least once a day. I'm sure you will get interview date this time. Good Luck!

Hi everyone,

It has been a while. My interview was on the 18th of February, 2016 and it went well. Our visas (our 4 month plus daughter and I) were approved.

Here are the few details I would be able to give.

First of all, i almost forgot my medical report. My sister gave it to me that morning just as we were getting ready to leave the house. So please and please, put all your documents together days before the interview. I was not in lagos until the evening before the interview and had to rely on my sister in getting the other documents ready.

I got to the lagos embassy well before 6am. There were people in front of the embassy already. There were some vendors trying to put a lot of tension into others by saying things like, American embassy uses only passport where ladies wear no ear rings. some said we needed to drop our bags and the rest.

For me, I was least concerned because I knew the rules, was carrying my baby and had a heavy bag to carry. Anyway, I received help with the bag from a kind lady who wad there for K1 visa interview. We were also asked to open our medical report during the second security check. They said sealed envelopes were not allowed into the Embassy.

After all the security checks, I eventually got into the main embassy building by 8.56am. It took a while before I was called to the window where our documents were scanned. But the security officer was kind enough to offer the nursing mothers in the queue seats. When it was time for my documents to be scanned, the officer said before she attends to me, I needed to pay the $325 application fee for our daughter. Thank God, i was already informed so I had enough cash with me. I walked confidently to the cashier window and made the payment (N68250). The other nursing mother was apparently not aware. She had to go out of the embassy to go and get cash.

After I made payment at the cashier window, I went back to the officer who was attending to me at window 17. A Nigerian lady and she filled my daughter's details into the system. She requested for my original birth certificate, international passport, police report, medical report and wedding certificate; baby girl's birth certificate, medical report, international passport and 2 passport photos each. Finally, she asked me for the number that I picked upon entry into the embassy and I told her B...

She wrote on top of my file. She also told me to ask for my copy of the receipt I used in making payment for our daughter with the CO who would interview me.

I went back to join the queue and in about 5 mins, I was given a seat. I settled in to feed my baby who was already hungry and before she could finish eating our number was called. I thought I was being called to take my finger prints only so I stood up and left our bag of evidences at our seat. A security guy had to help me bring it up to the window where I was being interviewed.

To God be the glory, I walked up to the window where a middle aged friendly white woman was sitted, smiling and waiting.

She asked me to place my left 4 fingers on the finger print scanner, followed by my right 4 fingers, 2 thumbs and another left 4 fingers to represent my baby's finger prints.

Next she said I should raise up my right hand to take the oath. At that point, it dawned on me that my interview had started. I took the oath. Here are the questions I was asked.

C.O: where did you meet your husband

me: i replied

C.O: When did we start dating.

me: 2....

C.O: When did we get married?

me: 2.

C.O: When was the last time he visited?

me: I answered.and gave her the date

C.O: We visited a certain country?

Me: yes

C.O: When was the visit?

Me: i told her the time.

C.O: It means my baby was born in a certain month

Me: Yes

C.O: Smiling, she said it means the baby was conceived on the trip.

Me: yes.

C.O: How did your husband go to the USA

Me: told her.

C.O: Where does he live?

Me: told her.

C.O: Where does he work?

Me: told her.

C.O: Did he school in the USA?

Me: told her

C.O: Well, everything looks good. Your visa is approved. Please pick it up in 10 days time. She said so smiling and bring out the courier form and told me about paying for the green card before we travel. The pictures my husband sent at NVC stage were returned to us including our passport photos.

With joy in my heart, I requested for my personal copy of the payment receipt of our ds260 for my daughter.

I left the embassy at 9.50am. The C.O did not request to see any evidences. During the interview, she was typing on her system and looking at other hard copy evidences with her. She also said my baby was cute. I replied her with a thank you and a big smile.

Jesus Christ did it for us and I will forever remain grateful for His love, kindness, mercy, favour and grace.

Thank you members of Visajourney. You all have been a great source of encouragement and help.

God bless you all.

I would still be around to read any comments or answer any questions. I would also be asking questions regarding point of entry.
