Scheduling Medical Exam in Dublin

Hey there, I was reading a few threads on here from last year about scheduling the medical exam at the Blackrock Clinic in Dublin. One person was saying he tried to schedule his appointment after receiving the packet 3, but the clinic told him he had to send the packet 3 back to the embassy before they would schedule it. This is confusing, because packet 3 includes the Notice of Readiness form that requests the date that the medical appointment has been scheduled, which all seems a little confusing.

I've also heard of people scheduling their medical in Dublin as soon as they get their updated DBL case number from the NVC... which is completely different from the above scenario. Also, how is this new case number attained?

So, I was just wondering the quickest point in time the medical is allowed to be scheduled at the clinic in Dublin and what they require of you in order to schedule the appointment. We are trying to make this process as seamless as possible. Thanks so much.

I am the petitioner.

Hi Cait!

My DH went to the Blackrock clinic last month on a whim to see if they'd do the medical exam for him and they did. Without anything from the Packet 3. We still aren't even at the NVC, but are trying hard to get everything prepped ASAP. The medical documents are valid for 12months!

We got our first NOA 5 months ago tomorrow. It's at the Texas Service Center, where the average processing time for the K-1 I129-F has increased to 5.5 months. :/ That's crazy they let him schedule the medical so soon! What would you recommend he say/ask when he calls? He's down in Waterford, so it's a little too expensive and long of a journey to just pop by. Hahaha. We thought there was no way they would do it until he at least gets the packet 3.

So, they delay you're experiencing probaby has something to do with this apparent glitch in the computer system effecting visa processing times. I wouldn't worry about it, but you can file an inquiry into your case status via the USCIS website. It may help a little bit if your application is outside the average processing time.

Oh, also, do you mind me asking where he got his medical records from? Just his family dr? Thanks!

Just an update... they allowed him to schedule the medical even without approval and actually said it was good he called because they are backlogged a few weeks at the moment. So glad he called! :)

Hi!
Yes, my DH just called and made an appointment and there was no problem or questions. He just said he needed a medical for immigration purposes and they pretty much knew the drill after that.
He got his medical records from his family dr, yes, although his immunisation records were incomplete. He had to get a blood test at an immunisation centre in Castleknock somewhere to verify his history(no idea how that works) and we got full immunisation confirmation with those tests.

Yeah, he went down to the health board and apparently the only two people who look up immunization records are gone on holiday until after his appointment. So he rang them and told them he wouldn't have his records and they said it should be fine and they would give him booster vaccs if they needed. So maybe they'll have him get the blood test, too.

Fingers crossed we both hear something soon!! :D
