Hello. My spouse and I have been married since May 10th this year. I left the Philippines after our marriage and came back to California on May 17th. I just started preparing papers last month and will be sending them tomorrow. These are what I've included in the packet:

. G-1145 e-Notification of Application/Petition Acceptance

· Personal check in the amount of $420

· I-130 Petition for Alien Relative

. G-325A (Petitioner)

· Copy of Birth Certificate (Petitioner)

· Copy of front page of unexpired U.S. Passport (Petitioner)

· G-325A (Beneficiary)

· Copy of Birth Certificate (Beneficiary)

· Two (each) Passport Style Photos, One (1) of Petitioner and One (1) of Beneficiary

· Copy of Marriage Certificate from Philippines

· Two (2) Affidavits swearing to the Bona Fides of Petitioner’s and Beneficiary’s Marriage

· Wedding Invitation

· Two (2) Facebook wall posts

. Four (4) pages of Skype conversations

· Photo pages as evidence to our bona fide relationship and marriage

In the instructions for this packet on the USCIS site, it says nothing about having to submit a copy of my spouse's birth certificate, but I will include it because I've read in previous topics that although it is not required, there are chances a spouse's birth certificate might be asked for. Nor does it say exactly what I need to prove the bona fides of our relationship/marriage; however, it does say to submit such documents.

Also, the reason that I am asking if the petition will be approved is because one of the things the form i-130 apparently asks for are plane ticket subs. My spouse and I met when we were both in high school. I moved to the Philippines with my family and started 3rd year high school there. He was a year ahead of me. We became a couple in 2007. We had a few pictures together at the beach from the year 2007 and then a few pictures together from the year 2009, just before I moved back to California. However, most of those photos are lost and I only have two photos from 2009. I did not visit him in the last few years before our marriage as I did not have money nor have a job. I am also a college student. We did have contact with each other everyday since I moved back to California. We'd call each other, we'd text, we'd chat on facebook, Skype and yahoo messenger. Not once, did we lost contact with one another. Now my question is this: Would the immigration question why I did not visit him in the years between 2009 - 2014 (before our wedding)? Would my being a student and not having enough money to visit him not be enough for them? As I mentioned, I only have the 2 pictures from 2009 and the majority that I have now was throughout my vacation in the Philippines a few months ago.

Here's a timeline just in case I typed too much:

2007 - Met and a few months became a couple

April 2009 - Moved back to California

April 2014 - Reunited

May 2014 - Married

May 2014 - Came back to California

Not much of a timeline but oh well. Anyways, skype and yahoo messenger seemed to have deleted our messages/video call history so I can't submit much from before the wedding. Also, calls between us consisted of phone cards. We do not have property together either. So is there a chance the petition will be rejected for lack of evidence of bona fide relationship/marriage? Or will the documents I will submit suffice?

No one can say it will be approved without knowing your full case. However, look at the check list below

You don't mention a cover or previous marriages.

You don't' mention translations of marriage certificates from PI, is it in English?

You say you don't have enough money to visit him, do you meet the financial requirement

good luck

What do you mean by "cover"? if you mean cover letter then, i basically copy pasted my cover letter in that question. qlso, i am obly 22 years old so no, i havent been married before this. i did not have money to visit him but my parents are willing to be co-sponsers and will be helping with the affidavit of support paper. His birth certificate is in English. all papers from him are in english. another this is: why would one need to know the whole case? i havent submitted the form yet. im basing my reaction on the account that the immigration wants proof of a bona fide relationship/marriage. would they still approve if i dont have proof of our relationship between 2007-2013? i basically only have photos from when i went to the Philippines this year April 12 until May 17. We married May 10. i barely have messages from before going to the philippines this year and all i could find are facebook and skype messages from after the wedding. yahoo messenger probably deleted our messages from the earlier years. would they need either him or i to prove our relationship before the marriage? as i said, i only have 2 photos from 2009

About showing proof of your relationship between 2007-2013, skype messages/calls, facebook conversations should be fine. Send pics of what you have during your relationship and marriage. If you have pics of your marriage with family/friends in them those would be good too. Did you mail anything to each other? That would be helpful too.

You could also get affidavits from people that can vouch for your relationship and use that for the bona fide of marriage.
