Timeline between London Embassy receipt of petition and interview

I'm a bit confused as to how long it will take to get an interview once the London embassy receives our paperwork from the NVC.

Mainly, how long does it take to schedule a medical appointment and then how long after the medical does it take to schedule the interview?

I read somewhere that the interview is usually scheduled within 2-4 weeks, but is the medical something that can be scheduled pretty quickly? If there's a 4-6 week wait or something, that changes our timeline, and I'd like to be able to already have that in mind.

Thanks!

As soon as London receive your file and you've received your case number then YOU schedule your medical. London won't do this for you. When I phoned Knightsbridge last Thursday they offered me a slot this Thursday (so a week). The results of your medical will then take 3-4 days to reach the Embassy and you should receive an interview date a few weeks after that.

ETA you'll obviously also have to submit both your DS160 and your Notification of Readiness form before London will schedule your interview.

And yes, you're easily looking at 4-6 weeks before your actual interview. Maybe even longer.

Sorry, I just checked your timeline and you haven't received your NOA2 yet? Ignore what I said above about 4-6 weeks then! Given you're at TSC it's going to be several months before your interview, not weeks!

Not sure if it's any help whatsoever, but we received ours from London last year, and we got our NOA2 (approval from USCIS) on June 20th with London receiving our case July 9. Medical was scheduled and done by July 30th. She could have gotten in earlier, but since I was planning a trip over, we scheduled it for when I got there. We then had to wait until August 20 to hear that we had an interview date of September 17th. So basically last year, for us, the London office took basically 3-1/2 months from the NOA2. Obviously every case is different, and this year will be different from last, but 3 months was pretty much the par for last year.

You can see my timeline posted as my signature if you want more detailed dates and information.

Patience is definitely a virtue when dealing with immigration issues.

Thanks! this is the kind of information I was looking for.

While we're not at the medical/interview stage yet, I'm just trying to map it out. Glad to know that scheduling the medical won't delay things very long!

If anyone has tried to schedule a medical appointment at Knightsbridge this year and had a much different experience time-wise, I'd love to hear about it.

Thanks again!

It has kinda been mapped out for you if you will look at the pinned threads at the top of this UK forum. There is a pinned guide for K1s going through London. A few changes to the original info are added after post 8. For example you are now allowed to bring phones into the embassy and DOS quit answering K1 phone calls.

I can assure you getting a medical appointment is the least of your concerns. The longest wait I can recall was a woman with four kids who needed a large block of time for five medicals on the same day.

Thanks. I read through those pinned posts and the medical part was the only thing I didn't see an estimated time-frame for. Thanks for the reassurance about the appointment though. The waiting period for our NOA2 has given me all this time to worry about all the further details! :-)

Thanks again for the help/explanations.
