Question please help!!

I may have messed up on my wife's petition. We are not very good with the whole process and we really should read more. Anyways, it is almost the 1 year point and still no interview. My problem is that i just realized that my petition preference is f2a. Now i never really took the time to realize what that meant until recently. The thing is when i sent my i-130 i also sent proof of us citizenship. That being said my wife's visa was supposed to be a cr1 and not an f2a which is for lawful permanent residents. My fault entirely for assuming that uscis was supposed to know that my aplication was supposed to fall under preference cr1 hence me having sent my proof of citizenship to begin with. Is this their mistake? Did i just waste a year being naive and not paying attention to the whole f2a part? Now i dont know what to do. Please any input would be very much appreciated

Confused exactly where are you in the process. You speak like she has the visa? You say 1 year no interview. Are you at USCIS, NVC? Where? this will help guide you who to call.

Are you still at USCIS waiting for approval? Why do you think you are a F2A? Just call them and verify? Have you called at all to check that they did see your citizenship certificate and all that.
