Immunizations REQUIRED for Medical/Immigrating?

My husband's parents never bothered to vaccinate him, so now we need to rush and schedule an appointment to make sure he has what is needed for the appointment (we scheduled the medical and the secretary said it's up to $150 per vaccine to get them there, which is outrageous). I've read that chickenpox is verbal. Is it true that only the tetanus and MMR are required? Can anyone verify this? Was anyone else ever asked if they had/asked to take anything else? Thanks!

Here is a link with information on which vaccines he will need at his age. It's much cheaper to have a family doctor give them beforehand, or so I hear.

Get the Vaccines at the local health unit. I had to have Tdap done at a travel clinic. MMR should be free of charge.

You should be aware that MMR requires two doses given one month apart to complete the series.

Required vaccines generally are MMR, Tdap (NOT Td), Varicella, and Flu (if medical is between Oct and Mar) from what I remember.

My husband was past-due for updated vaccines so he got them from his family doctor at no charge.

The only one that was a charge was varicella (chicken pox) and they wanted to do a screen test on his first to see if he'd had it.

The could only do Varicella at the Clinic and it was something like once a month.

While figuring this all out, we asked his sisters who remembered he had Chicken Pox so problem solved lol

If Hepatitis B shots are required, I think there are three of them (I remember getting them done while I was in public school in Ontario).

Not for over 18. I took proof of my Hep B immunity but it was still checked off on the vaccination worksheet as being not age appropriate.

Yeah, he'll need to get them done. Like someone else said, the flu shot is seasonal so depending on the time of year his medical is, he may not need it. Chicken pox is verbal, which they note on his paperwork.

I took my vaccination record (my mom had saved some paperwork from when I was a kid, and I called Ontario Health to get whatever they had on my record) to my GP along with the Visa requirements list and asked her to double check for me that I had everything since I'm a layman. I was good to go, and she even had other immunizations given to me in her records which weren't on the Ontario records.

Varicella was free for me. I got it done at the health unit. I had to get the blood test first though ... doctor nearly fell out of her chair when I asked for it and said, "are you SURE you haven't had chicken pox before?" Uh yeah... haha :)
