Police Certificate from Australia for London Embassy?

I worked in Australia for 11 and a half months. Wondered if the London embassy requires a police certificate for this amount of time even though it wasn't over 12months. Anyone had experience with this? Read for other embassies it's 6 months or more.

On the London Embassy website it says "Required for all countries where you have lived for more than 12 months since the age of 16".

Did you LIVE (not just have worked) there for 12 months or more?

If you were RESIDENT in Australia for 12 months or more then you will need it.

Its easy enough, but you have to get the one with fingerprint check unless London say otherwise. I had to have my fingerprints taken at Scotland Yard and thenmailed the application down to Canberra.

I've seen 6 months to 12 months guidelines, but if I were you, I would just play safe

and get it now since it looks like you are very early in the processing

and you have plenty of time to get the Australian police certificate

without effecting your overall processing schedule.

Because...let me tell you the headache that I am going through right now.

We are essentially at final steps in K1 visa processing, and embassy has instructed

us that my fiancee can setup interview and do the medical check.

But we discovered at the last minute that she needs to provide the

Russian police certificate, which can take up to 4 months.

We've waited 3 weeks, and Russian consulate is telling us some takes 3 to 4 weeks,

but many have taken 2 to 4 months.

We worked hard and diligently through the entire process, but oversight in preparation

will delay her POE by about 2 to 4 months.

So, my advice is since you have the time, get it now, and just play safe.

My fiancé lived in Australia for a year on a working holiday visa, so we are going through the same issue. Anything we had read was a police certificate for any country lived in for more than 6 months. We went ahead and ordered the Australian police certificate in May (it is valid for 6 months to a year, I cannot remember). We received it in June. It was a super easy process to order, just took time to be sent. Hope this helps!
