Qualifying Occupations

Dear all,

We both with wife are Accountants. We both have big working experience and diplomas related to accounting.

But when filling DS-260, something darkened our minds and we filled OTHER as Primary occupation and as Intended to work in the U.S. And only in additional box, which dropped - we stated ACCOUNTANT.

Also in all our job experiences as accountnats we stated, what no 2 years experience was needed to work in this job.

Are we in trouble?

What should we do? Maybe we should ask KCC to reopen our DS-260?

Thank you in advance for your answers.

Do you have high school diplomas? I am assuming you do, if you work as accountants - in which case you qualify on education and you don't need to worry about work experience.

If you don't you will be able to presence evidence of qualifying work experience at the interview.

Note that only the applicant needs to qualify via either education or work.

Dear Susie,

Thank you for your reply.

Yes, we both qualify by all points.

It is just, that we did not fill DS-260 correctly and we are afraid to be rejected even before the interview. Then again, I missed word "OR" and thought, that both (education and work experience) are required..

Could you please advise, would it be wise now to ask for form reopening for a fixes? or we should try to slip till the interview?

I can't speculate on interview date, best guess is go by what was current in 2014, maybe one month earlier.

I think you will have much better peace of mind if you ask KCC if you can reopen and correct your DS260...
