Hi All,

I submitted two I-130 petitions, one for my husband and one for my daughter, which were received by the Chicago Lockbox on 2 July. They have taken payment for both petitions already.

I completed a G-1145 e-Notification form for both petitions. We live in Vietnam, so I am not expecting to receive a hardcopy of the NOA1 yet as the post here is slow and unreliable. However, I understand that most people receive a text message and/or email as requested by their G-1145 usually within about 6 days, and 10 days at most.

I checked the USCIS website and they say that if you have not received the NOA1 within 10 days of their receipt of the I-130, then to email them at Lockboxsupport@uscis.dhs.gov to enquire or call the National Customer Service Center at (800) 375-5283. I have sent the email and have had no response so far. I also tried to call the number, but it was not possible to get through to a person. I was calling from 8am Chicago time for several hours, but the message kept telling me to call back between 8am and 6pm Mon-Fri, which I already was. I was following the options of 1-2-2 once in the call.

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to get through to USCIS to get a response on this?

Many thanks.

How did you pay the fee when you submitted the I-130s? Can you check whether they cashed your check or money order?

It usually takes up to 30 days now to get NOA-1.

Was the G-1145 the first page on your application package? If not then, they might ignore it. If you include G-1145 and are overseas you only receive an email check your junk emails just in case. Only customers living in the U.S. Will receive both an email and a text message. My suggestion is to keep insisting until you are able to speak with someone at USCIS. The good news about your case is that it has been received since they have taken both payments. I received both an email and a text 4 days after my application was received and received my NOA1 a week after my application was received as well. Keep calling until you get your receipt number. Good Luck.

We paid by cheque. The money has been removed from the bank account, so we know it has been paid - 2 weeks ago already.

I have seen several people on forums who had their I-130s delivered the same day and have already received their NOA1. That's why I am worried that something is up.

The G-1145 was the first page after the I-130 form. Just checked my spam and nothing in their either :( but good idea.

If I am able to actually get through to a human being on the phone then of course I will insist to get a receipt number, but so far unable to get through to anyone. The automated messages on that number keeps indicating that they are closed all the time when they are not. I will wait a bit longer... but then I still don't know what to do as can't get through to anyone.

Wow :( G-1145 should be the first page of your package in general. Your NOA1 should be on its way to Vietnam you should get it by Next month. I have found this website http://es.gethuman.com/contact/US-Citizenship-Immigration-Service-USCIS/ it might be helpful.
