Hi there! Yes, each consulate has different set of requirements. When in doubt, always refer to the embassy website for the instructions: http://photos.state.gov/libraries/manila/325288/packets/K1%20and%20K2%20Interview%20Preparation%20Instructions%20-%20English%20_updated%2004%20Feb%202014_.pdf

You can complete the required documents soon-ish. Just take note that for the CENOMAR, NBI clearance and Police clearance (if applicable), best to wait at least for NOA 2 as the embassy wants them to be as recent as possible (less than 6 months).

No need for the parent's letter of advice/ consent for the embassy interview. But this might be needed for CFO, depending on your age. Check out http://www.cfo.gov.ph/ for details.

I also need to know this answer. The CFO website doesn't say specifically and my fiancee is also 22 years old. Thanks!

Yes. You will need a Letter of Advice. Something is up with the CFO website today, I can't find the link.

But by reviews, sometimes they don't ask. It depends on how you present yourself. But to be safe, of course, and to avoid further delay, just have one ready.

I haven't done it myself, because I was old enough. :D

Here's a useful thread you can check: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/490106-cfo-nightmareplease-help/

-They mentioned there how one can prepare the Parental Letter of Advice. I tried looking for the link in the QC cityhall, but it's no longer available. But your LCR (Local Civil Registrar) should have a copy of this, and you also need to have this notarized.

The embassy instructions letter is your bible for this visa process. Read, follow it, use it as your check list.

Parent's letter of advise is not a requirement for the visa. The CENOMAR is a requirement.

There is info for the complete process in my link below this post.

I think you are confusing CFO requirements in the mix, CFO will at times ask for parent's advise/consent.

Parent's advice is NOT needed by the embassy. Follow the embassy instructions letter for what is required... it is that simple.

I have copies of Advice and Consent letters in my link under the CFO tab, whichever one will help

Thanks Hank. Yeah, I was referring to the CFO requirements. I had your site already bookmarked and should have known to check it. ;) I guess it's a crapshoot on whether they ask for it or not. Best to be prepared. Thanks again!

Ya it is a real cr-a-p shoot as to whether CFO asks for the advise letter. At least there are links to the samples (which I got from the Philippines consulate BTW) of the letters. Need to be notarized and it has been suggested to bring a copy of the parent's ID as well.
