Hi everyone,

I'm new to this site..I am hoping someday can help me out with my situation

Heres our story..

I was a full-time student before I got married, so I never held a job my parents supported me and now when I applied for the I864 my parents sponsored for my husband. My husband interview was on may 27 2014..the consulate at Bangladesh embassy gave him a paper stating to get a new sponsor as my parents income wasn't enough. There isn't anyone else who can sponsor my husband.

So my question is.....

Is it possible to show my husband's assets in Bangladesh? ( house, bank statement) to meet the poverty guidelines?

I am currently working full time but won't be able to file tax return until next year..so will it be acceptable to show pay stub/job letter and show them ( consulate officer) that there is an ongoing income..?

Thank you everyone..any kind of information will be a great help!

Hello m n f:

I am not an expert on this but based on my experience this is what I think it is. The sponsorship is supposed to be provided for the candidate (your husband) by the applicant (you or someone or more than one person from your side). Now regardless of your husbands financial status it would defeat the basic purpose if he tries to sponsor himself.

What is the solution: I don't think you should take your husbands route and rather think of something from your or your parent side and consult with a good immigration lawyer beforehand.

Please know that I am saying this without any proper knowledge on this

Hellraiser :

Thank you very much for the helpful information, this whole process is a major headache!

We did find a sponsor (uncle going to help out but he sponsored his friend's family, so hes not sure if his sponsor reliability ended yet) but if the consulate denies the aos again will it affect his visa?

May God forbid, if this does not work out and a period of one year passes does this petition end? Since i am working now and won't be able to file taxes until next year.

Thank you,

Mita

i dont think so its not gonna be problem. becaz sponsor means helping some with house or money . if he did sponsored some one before, it shundt be a prblm if that some one is having ha job n place to stay right now.

If he has sponsored another person he adds that person to his household size on the affidavit of support unless

That person is a USC

that person is dead

That person left the US and gave up their green card

that person has worked 40 credited quarter ( at least 10 years maybe forever )

This will not be over quickly. You will not enjoy this.
