My son went to London embassy may 16th for his crba, u.s passport and ssn. My husband couldn't be there and was excused due to military reasons. The officer requested two additional documents which we got to her in a few days. She knew we had confirmed travel to the u.s on the 19 june. That's two weeks away and I'm freaking out!!! She said I could get an emergency passport for my son if worst came to worst and his passport wasnt back but the embassy site says you can only book it 5 days before you travel, but it takes them like a week to respond!! I'm at an utter loss on what to do. Is there an online site to track his passport? How long does it usually take from experience? Any help would be greatly appreciated :(

Not sure about in London, but I did my son's crba and passport in Sydney a couple of month ago and took less than 10 days (probably 6 business days). However, I have to say, although it is also very hard to speak to the sydney consulate on the phone, they always reply to emails in less than 24h. Hopefully works out for you. I also needed mine in a hurry but luckily got it about 4 days before my flight!

Sorry, forgot to mention, SSN took a couple of month but you don't need that to travel.

Seems like the passport waiting estimates are overly inflated. I applied for my passport (in the US) regular processing and got it within 10 days (today!) Estimates said 4-6 weeks for regular.

is the link to track your passport

Mine still says I'll receive it in 06/10/2014 but I just got it today 6/7!
