I think this thread deserves to be locked, removed and burnt. It ceased to be useful a few pages ago...

It had been useful (to me and 'maybe' somebody else out there) but it became a "no-you-are-not-helping" war (can't think of a term).

Or maybe the solution here is not locking, removing, and burning a thread - but learning to be respectful and civil to one another. I did not start this thread for anybody to hurt one another in a way, Like I said in my earlier post, what's useful to me may not be useful to somebody, but I have my own reason for asking such question and doing this instead of doing that.

Most of us joined this forum to seek help and provide help. Nobody wants to join any kind of a group just to be told that what we speak is useless or stupid. Just my 2 cents.

Thanks and may everyone have a blessed day!

I would be the last person in the world to stop anyone from posting what someone else finds useful. All I am trying to stop is the endless barrage of personal attacks, insults, mocking, condescending remarks and other inflammatory digs that have been coming at me from just a few select people. And just when I thought it was over, someone started in again. Why won't these people get the message and just stop?

I didn't mean to say you were responsible for this. My apologies if I came across like I'm insinuating you were. Let's just say you happen to be caught in the crossfire because you were in the wrong place at the wrong time ;)

Most of us joined this forum to seek help and provide help. Nobody wants to join any kind of a group just to be told that what we speak is useless or stupid. Just my 2 cents.

I agree with you. This forum helped me a lot in my own quest to be better informed about the whole visa process and I'm here to give back to the community as a sign of my apprecation. I'll share facts and my experiences to the topics I am very familiar with, the rest I'll ignore in the hopes that someone with a far better understanding of the topic in hand would come across it and respond.

Like I mentioned, the thread just stopped becoming useful the last few pages. It served it's purpose and now we should just let it die.

Some people don't help. I don't mean this in any sort of derogatory way; I am just stating an unfortunate fact: You were one of those people. I am not accusing you of any sort of malice, but when you see you are not having a good effect on a person, that is the time to walk away. I think you got that message eventually, but only after you fanned the flames and stoked up a considerable bonfire.

Several people did help, and I had the privilege of helping some of them. But rather than nitpick what you could have done better, I hope the next time you see a little fire burning in someone's head and your efforts only make the flames grow stronger, that you walk away and let someone else put the fire out.

My flames went out long before we got our visa issued, and you had nothing to do with that successful fire extinguishment. If anything you made the job of those who succeeded harder.

I don't dislike you, and my criticism of your lack of people skills here is only for the purpose of hoping that you will not damage other people like you damaged me. Don't worry about me. I am over you. I got over you last week. All I ask is that you please not make what you did to me standard operating procedure on other people.

AI422.... did you not say in another thread that "Two weeks is not even considered a delay." but here you are ranting how your not getting any movement on your visa. Many of us were trying to tell you as well as others, and might I add from our experience, that two weeks is not a long time. And for you, it was "T-14" your measurement not mine.

Yes you have a lot going on in your life health wise, and I'm sure having Candy there with you would ease your anxiety.

Let me share something with you. I lost my previous wife to breast cancer in 2005. I had three children ages 12 and twin girls at 9 years old to raise and support on one income by myself after she passed. I never took the "whoa is me" attitude. I did what had to be done to raise my children to adulthood. I never complained. Then in 2009 I had prostate cancer that was around the time that I met my lovely Filipino fiancé and we began our journey. Would having her here during my sickness have helped.... Hell Yes! BUT it was not going to happen. So realistically I did what had to be done to insure that I was well for when she did arrive.

The best thing she told me in the beginning of our journey was that I will need more patience then I have ever mustered in my life. You know, she was right. It was those words that got me and "us" through the trials and tribulations for our journey. There were times that I wanted to throw the towel in. Trips and trips to this agency and to that government agency and not understanding the "culture" of why it couldn't be done the American way. NOW. Thousands of dollars were spent to ensure in the end she and her children would be next to me and my children. I can tell you that it took 5 years to get her visa and I am proud of her accomplishments, because in the end she was the one who had to endure the 3 hour non air conditioned bus rides, the ferry rides late at night, flights back and forth and the continued disappointment when she needed to return again because it would take "weeks" to complete the documents.

Our journey included one K1 and two K2's to the USA. It was hard. But you know, its like eating an elephant; one bite at a time. So two weeks waiting from interview to visa in hand was a cake walk. Many of us who comment on the forums do not paint a panacea for the questioner. We play it straight and sometimes the OP does not want to hear the answer. We know from experience or the experiences of others that that answer is what is going to make their experience easier and will ensure a positive result.

Many of us see others here who are struggling with the visa process. We spend countless hours helping and communicating and encouraging that the path they're on is worth ever step of the way. We research many hours to help those requesting help. What you say will not deter my desire nor theirs to help others reach their goal. I'm sorry but mine is a "Can Do" attitude and therefor it's hard not to comment when I meet a complainer.

If you have seen the many posts that apple21, Sweet Cakes or Hank post, they are there to help. Many times their posts go unappreciated, but there are those times that one will get a thank you or praise. I have the greatest respect for Hank and so do hundreds that he has helped. You can see the outpouring in the "thank you Hank" posts. There are others that I have not mentioned but believe me they are hard at work to help anyone who ask for help.

You didn't go to Candy's interview, if you had, you would have seen your "Country" at it's best. There are thousands there (at the USEM) trying to reach their dream and the people who work there are trying to do the best for our Country and for the individual, it's truly is a thankless job. I wish I could go back in the Embassy and meet with the Filipino CO and the American CO for our case and tell them that I appreciate all that they do.

You know, you and I could sit down and have a beer together and we probably see eye to eye on many subjects. But this one we do not. I hope you see we both have our own road to hoe; but brother, maybe the pain and the journey will become easier if we work together.

Now that you are near your dream, I wish for you and Candy that all your dreams will come true. Safe travels to Candy and all the best to the each of you in your new life together. Safe travels and Gods speed with your health. 2059.gif

Thank you for sharing your story with me.

Most of your posts are very appropriate, but when you get condescening or otherwise contemptuous, you will always get an undesirable reaction out of me. I am sorry if they cause you such concern, but if you don't want to see reactions like that, the solution is very simple: Don't make posts like that. That is all I ask for and what I thought I finally achieved, unill your last post, which undid all the progress I thought I made in bringing posts like that to a halt. They really are offensive, and you really need to stop. Can you please stop posting things like that? I don't want to read them, nor does anyone else.

I am not unmindful of the contribution Hank has made to this board, which makes posts like that coming from him all the sadder. But he seems to have already stopped, so I say no more.

I have no problem with anybody else. Just you and Hank, pouring gasoline on the fire while everyone else is trying to put the fire out. Hank already stopped. Please follow his wise lead and do likewise. The result will be a better board for al of us.

We were lucky. everything for us just happened like clock work. From the Day I got my NOA1 until I picked her up in Atlanta was a hair under 5 months.
