I think the best option would be for the USC to go visit thier SO in he/her country. Does it really matter which country you ultimately meet in? Does it really make sense to take a risk and have your SO come to the US and get denied regardless of how low that risk is? The SO will ultimately be coming to the US *hopefully* when the visa is approved anyway..

I already explained my reasons for why this isnt an option for us but ill put them here again:

As far as me going over there we have many reasons. The biggest one is I have a 4 year old son from my first marriage who I share joint custody with my ex husband, I have him Sat-Tues my ex has him Wed-Fri. Every moment I have with my son is special to me and even those 3 days apart I have already kills me. I could never leave my son for weeks and go to another country even if it is to see the man I love, I love my son more and because of the agreement and the days we split taking him with me is not an option( my ex is a major pain and anything he can do to make life more difficult he will so asking him to keep my son on "his" days would get me a big Fat No). Other smaller things include my job, my home, and the fact im scared to death of airplanes. All in all even with the K1 pending its easier for us for him to come here.

How does it happen, Great love?... Noone knows.. But I what I do know is it happens in a blink of an eye. One minutes your happily living your life and the next your wondering how you ever lived without them.

It will be a 50/50 chance that they will allow him to enter because of the pending petition well the immigration officer will definitely ask him about purpose of his visit might as well tell the truth if ever asked coz once they found out he's hiding something they will definitely cancel whatever visa he's holding or worse he'll be banned for 5 yrs that would complicate ur petition. If ever that happens they will allow him to make a call once they are DONE questioning him they can detain him as long as they want and u cannot do anything abt it coz ur fiance is still considered not within the US soil.Dont put him in that difficult situation my advice is i know it's hard but extend ur patience a liitle more it will be sweet :blush: once ur petition is over hang in there!

Thanks to all for the valuable info. My husband is thinking of trying to come in April. He would probably come through Chicago, though not necessarily. Does anyone know of Chicago's "reputation?"

I saw the post about the fiance getting sent back and having to spend $1200 to get on the return flight. Any other experiences with this? I wonder if the airlines ever work with you to get you a seat without putting you into debt.... Anyone heard anything on that, or if certain airlines have better reputations than others regarding this?

And yes, I know that if he does try to come, it's a risk we're taking and nothing can be guaranteed, etc.... I'd just like to hear about others' experiences as we try to make our decision. Thanks!
