Hi there. I filled my k1/129f this month and received a receipt # from them on May 18th. I am a bit confused as to the dates that are out there in regards to processing times. All I would like to know is what is the average time from the time you send the paperwork until the time your fiance is approved. I'm asking for just the average time please. I see on the TSC that it says 5 months. Is that from start to finish?

what service center is your application being processed at and what country is your fiance from? the average times can vary greatly depending on those factors.

:time:Filling in your timeline aids people wanting to give you advice.

EDIT: you asked about TSC. the 5 month processing time refers to the USCIS processing time (NOA1 to NOA2) - and does not include NVC processing or the time waiting for your interview at the consulate.

we also filed at TSC. petition sent out on November 26 2013, NOA1 on Dec 3, NOA2 Feb 18 2014, had my interview at Montreal consulate(approved)on May 13 and am now waiting for my visa. So yeah, took about 5 months for us. Of course, it could be more or less, all kinds of factors come in to it. Our case was pretty straightforward: I was born in Canada, he was born in the US, neither of us have been married before, we visited on a monthly basis, he has a good job to support us financially.

Good luck

I feel this whole process is way to complicated. I know it's not going to change but still. I've seen read posts that say it takes anywhere from 3 to 9 months. I read posts where things are lost and where there is a huge delay for no apparent reason. I'm not saying it's done intentionally but it does raise some flags. The US should have a k1 packet that you can download with everything that is needed to make this process fluid.

USCIS processing for TSC is ~5 months.

NVC processing ~1 month (to transfer your petition from USCIS to NVC, process at NVC, and send to consulate)

Wait for interview (based on other Ukraine K1 timelines) ~2-3 months

so maybe 9 months is a good estimate for you - based on current processing trends. and of course, those trends could change.

you can check out other Ukraine K1 timelines by going to Immigration Timelines (on the dark blue header above) then click on "K1 Visa Timelines". You can sort by country and see NOA1, NOA2 and Interview dates for all K1 timelines that members have populated.

best of luck to you!
