Hello VJ friends, I just received an email from the NVC letting me know that there are no visas available! I became a USC back on March and immediately sent a letter with a copy of my naturalization certificate to upgrade my category from F2A to Immediate relative. I guess that they didn't receive the letter!? I am here in the Dominican Republic with my hubby and won't be back to New York until Thursday. Should I call NVC or should I send a letter again with a copy of my naturalization certificate? Is that going to affect my process? I already have a case number at the NVC which is a good sign, right? Anyways, I hope that someone here can help me. Thanks a lot.

Sure, call and ask if they got your notification to upgrade to IR1. You send the letter to NVC? Did you include the case number, your full name, date of birth and your spouse's full name and date of birth? If not, you could email all that information and a scan of the Naturalization certificate to nvcinquiry@state.gov

Thanks for replying to my question. I sent a certified letter with a copy of my USC certificate, the original letter that I sent months ago with the appropriate documents. Should I wait for then to receive it to call or should I call them already? Please kept me know.. Thanks.

I forgot to ask. Is this going to delay the whole process or would it go back on track? The reason I ask is because by this point, I should have been filling out AOS, and sending the proper documents to get the case completed.

Your process will not move forward until they update their system to show you as a US Citizen.
