Toyota Motor ... may build as many as five North American assembly plants in the next 10 years, according to people with direct knowledge of the plans.

Toyota, the biggest automaker in Japan, will build at least one factory in the southeastern United States and one in Mexico, said the people, who asked not to be identified because the company had not discussed the matter publicly.

[...]

Based on Toyota's recent investments, five factories would create about 10,000 jobs and cost $5 billion.

True,

Maybe the tide have turned.

As they have beaten up the competitor now they can come and play on their own turf. Right now my company is planning to move to singapore in 5 years or so due to cheap labor and to be closer to the Asian customers since most of the business is coming from Asia. But I guess once the asian master they system, now they can come back here to the US and build out here.

Gone but not Forgotten!
