The following question is being asked. Do you have a major impairment in learning, intelligence, self-care, memory or communication?

My husband is dyslexic and went to a special high school, but doesn't have medical information on this. Should he mark no since they never treated him for anything medically? I am confused if this is considered a MAJOR impairment in learning when he graduated secondary school and attended university.

Will he be able to read the questionnaire that they hand him at Knightsbridge? Is his dyslexia severe enough to limit his ability to be employed? Does he require modifications to his every day life because of it, or does he get on like the next bloke?

Dyslexia or diagnosed learning disabilities are not lack of intelligence. Background--I have graduate studies, extra teacher certifications, and teaching experience in areas of learning disabilities. It is not an intelligence thing. As a matter of fact, students were not allowed in the program I taught if they were merely slow learners. The IQ had to be average or above with a diagnosed learning disability such as dyslexia.

Any further professional information would be from the school system and their diagnostic testing, not a medical doctor. I'm kinda thinking that might be over the top to try to dig something like that out. To me this question is looking for mental retardation (below 70 iQ), severe handicaps requiring a care giver and such.

Thank you Nich-Nick. It doesn't effect him that bad. He holds a job and he can read just fine. He mixes up his letters in spelling, but not often. He might forget to drop an in like in comeing instead of coming.

Thank you so much.
