Received Interview Letter... No Interview Date?!

Hi all -

This morning I was delighted to receive a letter from the Consulate confirming an interview was set and a list of instructions to follow.

Unfortunately, the letter omits the interview date entirely! Presuming this is just a typo, I will have to call the Consulate on Monday since they are not open today (Saturday) to find this out.

Has this happened to anyone else?! I've read the letter several times and its definitely not there. Maybe I should get the black light out in case they've hidden it just to tease me?!

I followed the online Visa Appointment Service to see if it may be revealed through that process, but no luck. I have paid the MRV fee and printed the payment confirmation, but the next screen requires you to pick the interview date from a calendar and since I don't know what it is I'm not going any further with that stage.

I surprised her with a proposal in Los Angeles, and this is how it went down!

Also, its worth noting the letter is dated 24 April and post-marked 01 May. I've been keeping a diary and I know I only completed readiness on the 24 April... so it seems they sent out the letter that very same day?!

Is that unusual beyond belief? Seems so to me, but its true.

Doesn't it mean they sent out the letter May 1 (postmark date)? The date on the letter might have just been computer generated based on something else. And still a glitch.......sigh

Are they open on Monday with it being a bank holiday? You might have to wait til Tuesday, or call DoS/NVC on Monday

Ah yes, that... #######.

I'll call NVC on Monday instead. I'm delighted its all moved so quickly though.

Do you think the letter has been sent in error, since it doesn't actually quote an interview date? And especially since I've not yet had my medical (booked for Tue).

I guess I will only find out when I call NVC on Monday.

If you have not had your medical you will not have an interview date set. They only schedule an interview after the medical results are in and they have your paperwork and readiness form.

No idea, seems to be a mistake, my point is London do not schedule an interview until they have the medical results. As you have not had a medical they will not schedule and interview, it would seem they have not as there is no date on it.

Try using the contact form to ask about it. I believe DOS have stopped responding to people asking about interview dates.

Or call the embassy on Tuesday.

Update here:

My fiancé rang NVC today to find out the suspected interview date only to be told they do not hold this information and that we could only find out directly from the Embassy.

I have called the Embassy on 020 7499 9000 several times however I keep ending up in a closed loop of recorded info messages and cannot reach a human. There is another number for a visa appointment call centre, however this is for non immigrant visas only and they do not handle calls for K1's.

I have emailed the Embassy twice but no answer this week and i'm reading many examples where they have no answered at all.

Obviously having this interview letter in hand but with no date makes me very keen to find out what/if there is indeed a date, and of course when that might be!

Does anyone have any further advice on directly contacting the Consulate? Or do folks suspect we have merely reached an unhelpful person at NVC and they do in fact have this info?

I am aware that DoS will no longer take these calls.

Yes, I got a reply to my email this morning telling me to disregard this letter as no interview has been set. Obviously an error on their part, as expected.

Damn those guys getting my hopes up!

This is not true. The UK permits advance medicals. You can get a medical done prior to the interview date being set.
