You need to make very sure you read the instructions for selectees properly and thoroughly. (There should be a link to the correct website on your congratulations letter. ) That will be of far more use to you than random internet posters. If there is anything in those instructions that you don't understand, by all means come back and ask for clarification. I have been following the forums a while and it is a shame the number of people who get disqualified because they did not read the instructions properly, so that is the most important advice to give to you.

Be sure to read the country specific information too on the above websites, it may tell you whether or not you can use your current passport.

Where did you check that

He is estimating based on past years. He may or may not be right. I would have estimated about the same.

Yeah sussie is right it all a guess from previous years !

Our guesses should carry a public health warning - something like:

Our guesses are rarely accurate because KCC won't cooperate with logic, common sense or even Slonerisms (which have little logic or common sense).

Oh boy yes, in all likelihood Oct interview.

Yes they are always silent about proof of financial support but you may be asked for it, or need to otherwise demonstrate that you won't be a public charge. Sometimes the officers are satisfied that your age + education etc will be enough to get you a job and don't ask for any financial evidence, other times they will ask for proof of funds or assets. It varies hugely, best to be prepared.
