Hello VJ experts,

Trying to get an advise from you guys, so here is mi story:

Yesterday I called the USCIS to ask them expedite my EAD since I have a Job offer and that company wants me to start working as soon as possible. I gave them this information and I also told them I was going thru a difficult financial situation. They gave me a reference number and I hoped the result was going to be positive. This is the response I got:

Type of service requested:
-- Expedite

The status of this service request is:

Our records indicate that we are awaiting your response to our request for evidence on your I-485 application. Your I-765 application is currently in suspense or on hold until we receive your response. Please follow any instructions on that notice.

---

According to what I read on several threads here on VJ, If you got a RFE for your I485 application, the EAD was not put on hold. But I guess that was not true.

Any suggestion about what shud I do now? I don't wanna lose the opportunity to work for this company.

Thank you!

EAD is put on hold if the AOS receives an RFE. You need to address the RFE, they won't expedite when they're missing information.

Yes I received their letter and I sent the response the next day I got the letter. Now I'm waiting their system to update to RFE review to call them again and see if they can unhold my expedite request. If they refuse I guess I'm gonna contact the congressman of the city I'm living and hope he can help

Ok so I contacted my congressman and the person in charge of the immigration issues in his office told me she put a file with all my information and sent it to the USCIS (Job offer, Cover letter, I797 for both I485 and I765, biometrics, etc.) That was last wednesday May 7th. Nothing has happened since then and its just frustrating because considering all the successful cases about expedited work permits posted on this forum took like 1 or 2 days to be approved.

I'm just desperate because the company who offered me this job wont keep the offer for too long according to what they said a couple days ago.

Do you guys have any other suggestion about expediting my work permit ?

Maybe contacting California Senator?

Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated!!!
