Oh and I know I cannot go bakwards to what was. Though I may want it, I am a realist. I want to win the lotto too but won't hold my breath.

Plan for the worst but hope for the best.

Although hope is not a course of action.

Rob,

I am simply very sorry for you. Instead of being a lucky man to marry a lady who is stable, happy and confident and knows how to deal with hard issues (losing a kid- which by the way, I'm sure is extremely hard. I've never been there....I've only been the child who lost their parents when was a small kid and got thrown into foster care...that was hard enough, I admit) and have a happy family with healthy dinner conversations with your spouse, looking at the kids growing and going to trips, or simply staying at home enjoying making your garden more beautiful....and I could go on. I am very sorry for you for missing out on all these, and now just being a "caregiver" for an alcoholic woman who not only cannot take care of her kids, but herself. I like this section of the VJ forum as it makes me realize how lucky I am with my spouse! Reading all the horror stories, and how people just divorce like someone changing their socks really makes me realize that I'm super duper lucky with my spouse. We are building our dreams, day by day, while enjoying our time reaching it. We discuss everything, starting from how we imagine our future house (we don't have a house yet), how we will raise kids when it will come to it and then we can just simply be kids and joke around, goof around...and wonder how the heck did we dare to marry each other if we forgot to grow up. :) I really wish you left this lady and found a better future for yourself, but I also understand your perspective....either way, it's not a win-win situation...for now. I hope soon enough you will come to a resolution in your head/heart and will be happy that you made that move whatever that will be.

All the best!!!!
