How long he been here? It usually takes 2-3 days for him to appear in their system.

Since Sunday. But we had to apply for SSN. Baton Rouge bill got his wife # the day after she arrived. I'm in the same town. Lol

But it's okay. We still have time to get married :)

Yes I understand now. I went on day 3 to get my wifes and it wasn't in their system. The clerk though went the extra mile and using her AO number went and got it and brought it into her system. It takes a clerk willing to do a search that will take an extra minute or two. Or maybe she was newer and didn't know how to do this. Either way it shouldn't take long and just go back and do it again. Congrats on the marriage. My first civil wedding was nice. The 2nd church wedding was fun too. Good luck and God bless.

the package calls for two photos with the 485 and two with the 765.... are these passport type photos or photos together that are dated???

The I 131 form for travel, is it nessasary or can you just wait for the GC? we don't have a specific date to take a cruise or trip to Canada. Should I file it anyway with a random date in august or September?

The same way he got his SS card. She should have a AO number too right? I am not sure about kids so maybe someone that has can help here but she is now here and the same things you do for any American kid to register and such applies here.

I lived in New Orleans area for 5 years myself and most of the laws were the same as Texas. You can get a marriage license in Louisiana without a SS number by doing this.

Applicants must provide both Social Security numbers. If no number has been issued, that person must sign a
statement to that effect and must appear in person. This form is available in the marriage office and on our
website

Passport photo type.

You need to fill out SS application, I-94, and her passport to apply SSN. You dont need EAD for her.

If you did not apply SSN before 14 days expiration date of I-94, then you need EAD to apply SSN. However, they might not approve her EAD based on 9 years old.

I dont know her authorized to live in US for K-2.

Sent I-485, I-765, and I-131 on the 15th of March, 2014.

Received EAD on June 7, 2014.

Received Notice of Potential Interview Waiver on July 1, 2014 date 6/27

Contacted Ombudsman on 01/12/2015.

Sorry for the post early. It seems K-2 must have EAD or GC to apply for SSN.

AOS does not need SSN.

I-485 is adjust of status to obtain GR. I would recommend to apply I-131( AP),and I-765 (EAD) along with I-485 because it is free when you apply with I-485 together.

I-751 is Lift Condition Application, you dont need it until 90 days before her GR expiration date.

The fee for I-485 is 1070 ( include biometric fee).

We recieved the texts for with receipt numbers in sequential order for these three forms... My next question is how long before we get them, will they be all at once or separate???

You will receive biometric letter within a month. If you dont receive it, then you need to call them.

I-765 and I-131 are 3 months processing time and I-485 is about 4-12 months. People get EAD and AP faster than GC, but some cases are other ways around.

You have 50/50 chance to have either interview or interview waiver.

My wife did not get approved for EAD and AP yet, it has been 80 days from the date of filing.

Ok one more silly question, the visa expires 90 days after arrival, and it takes 4-1/2+ months for the green card, does the receipt for the I-485 serve as a temporary visa extention??? how does that work???
