Hi fellow VJers,

I’ve been following posts on this forum for a few weeks and have learned so much about the filing process from comments and advice given on this site. Thank you!

I’m getting started with filling out I-129F, G-325a and supporting documents. I have searched through previous posts for most of the questions I had but haven’t found any answers to the following which may be unique to me.

  1. I’m a US citizen by naturalization – should I add my alien registration number at the bottom of my g-325a? I’m a little confused on this one as I thought alien registration #s only came up when USCIS generates one for beneficiary (non-US fiancé)?
  1. I’m doing freelance research while looking for a full time job stateside. I’ve been in the US for a couple of months and haven’t earned any income from freelance research in 2014 but I have been providing pro-bono research/advisory services to a non-profit firm based in the US. Should I indicate that I’m a self employed freelance researcher on g-325a employment history or should I say I’m unemployed since I haven’t earned any income this year? Does it matter if I say I’m self employed but have no income (I’m hoping to have a job by the time I-134 is due)?
  1. For “Applicant’s last address outside the US for more than 1 year” , do I have to list the last address outside the US where I lived for 1 year or are they asking for my last address as a non-US resident for more than 1 year. I know it seems like I’m splitting hairs… ..LOL! but these forms are intimidating and I’m trying to avoid RFEs. I lived abroad in one country for 2.5 years –
  1. I lived at my last address outside the US for 9 months
  2. before that I rented an apartment in the same country for 1 year at a different address.

Which address (a or b) should I list in response to “Applicant’s last address outside the US for more than 1 year”

Thanks for your help!

Technically as a USC you do not need to list an A#, but I know that some people that are naturalized citizens go ahead and list their old A# anyway.

I’ve been in the US for a couple of months and haven’t earned any income from freelance research in 2014 but I have been providing pro-bono research/advisory services to a non-profit firm based in the US. Does it matter if I say I’m self employed but have no income (I’m hoping to have a job by the time I-134 is due)? You can list it either way. This form does not ask how much you earn at your job, so it does not matter if it does not pay.
