I know I'm getting ahead of myself here, but I have a few questions about AOS and moving house.

There's a possibility that my husband and I will have to move out of state in October 2007. Assuming he enters the US on a K-3 visa in April, how long do we have to apply for AOS, and is this amount of time based on the expiration of the K-3 visa or the expiration of the approved I-130 petition? I ask because I've read some nightmare stories about moving during AOS and would prefer to wait until after we move to file for it.

Also, can he file for EAD without filing for AOS right away?

The K-3 visa is valid for 2 years. You will need to Adjust Status within that time frame. But you can file for an EAD before filing the AOS. In other words, these can be filed separately.

Correction: You will need to file to Adjust Status within the 2 years that the K-3 is valid.
