Just an FYI: The US Postal Service offers a Global Express Guaranteed shipping at select Post Offices around the country.

They work with FedEx - which as explained to me are the ones who hand deliver the package once it arrives to the final destination.

I had to send 1.2 lbs of documents from California to the Philippines and the total charge - $54.75

I have a tracking number and the receipt even has the FedEx logo on it. It is guaranteed to be there by Jan. 12th (Philippine time).

Had I used FedEx for the same service the charge would have been - $164.26

If you call your local Post Office be sure to ask for Global Express Guaranteed (1-3 business days) because the do offer regular Global Express which they say takes 5-7 business days.

The USPS Overnight delivery is also shipped by FedEx but delivered by the Post Office and it too is way less than the FedEx overnight service. I send things 5-7 days, is much cheaper and still gets there.

I always use the Global Priority and it's around $19 for a box to the Netherlands up to 4 pounds + takes 3 days. It's pretty reliable, I sent all the visa documents to my fiancé using that.
