Just wanted everyone to know what to expect with the CFO (Philippines). Several people were turned away because they did not have supporting documents (this is not spoken of on the website). When you go for the CFO have all documents that were needed for the US embassy interview as well as photos of you and your fiancee/fiance together. I looked at two different sites regarding CFO requirements and the supporting evidence was not mentioned. This is a full day process. I was not allowed in the room or waiting room with my fiancee. She told me the interviewing officer was tougher than the US embassy interview and the interviewer at the CFO tried to talk her out of marrying several times; they also asked her many questions regarding my history and our relationship. We are now in the US and married :). Anyway be sure to bring all documents that were required for the US embassy interview.

Does this apply to K-1 Visa applicants only?

No, sis. It's for everyone leaving the country with an immigrant visa, including K1s.

More info here:

For spousal visa, a CFO seminar certificate is even a requirement for one to get a new passport from DFA in married name. This means spousal visa holders come back to CFO for the CFO sticker prior to departure.

Hi The Supporting the documents are: photos of you and your fiance/fiancee together, correspondence between you and your fiancee; passport stamps, flight itinerary and all other documents that the US embassy required such as Tax/income, divorce documents, two valid IDs, two passport photos, 22 years of age, it would help if you wear formal attire and below bring your parents, etc. This is all we can think of off the cuff. Best wishes and good luck.

For CFO:

Required documents & "OTHER DOCUMENTS" they ask for at CFO: 2X2 passport photo (Filipina), originals & copies of; NOS CENOMAR (CEMAR and marriage certificate if married), certified birth certificate. Passport with copies of bio page and visa page from passport, pictures together.

From USC (copies of) - bio page of passport, birth certificate, divorce decree (if been married before) are the most common requests. (USC if you have never been married before CFO has been asking for a copy of the tax return - if you provide that to CFO then for sure BLACKEN OUT YOUR SSN and other vital info that should not be made public. )
