Hillary struggles to list accomplishments during tenure as Secretary of StateApril 4, 2014 | Joe Schoffstall - 1,202 Comments

On April 3, 2014, Hillary Clinton spoke at the Women of the World Summit in New York City and was asked what she was most proud of during her tenure as Secretary of State. Clinton could not provide any concrete examples of the accomplishments she holds in high regard.

“When you look at your time as Secretary of State, what are you most proud of? And what do you feel was unfinished, and maybe have another crack at one day?” the moderator asks.

“Well, I really see — that was good — that’s why he wins prizes. Look, I really see my role as Secretary, in fact leadership in general in a democracy, as a relay race. When you run the best race you can run, you hand off the baton. Some of what hasn’t been finished may go on to be finished, so when President Obama asked me to be Secretary of State I agreed,” Clinton responded.

She continued, “We had the worst economic crisis since the Great Depression, we had two wars. We had continuing threats from all kinds of corners around the world that we had to deal with. So it was a perilous time frankly. What he said to me was, ‘Look, I have to be dealing with the economic crisis, I want you to go out and represent us around the world.’ And it was a good division of labor because we needed to make it clear to the rest of the world, that we were going to get our house in order. We were going to stimulate, and grow, and get back to positive growth and work with our friends and partners.”

Clinton went on to say that she’s proud of the solid leadership from the administration and that they have restored American leadership in the best sense.

“So I think we did that. I’m very proud of the stabilization and the really solid leadership that the administration provided that I think now, leads us to be able to deal with problems like Ukraine because we’re not so worried about a massive collapse in Europe and China — trying to figure out to do with all their bond holdings and all the problems we were obsessed with. I think we really restored American leadership in the best sense. That, once again — people began to rely on us as setting the values, setting the standards. I just don’t want to lose that because we have a dysfunctional political situation in Washington. Then of course, a lot of particulars, but I am finishing my book so you’ll be able to read all about it.”

The kenyan spent 1.5 million/night travel expense.... We can also assume she likes the high life for her and her "assistant".. Her vacation took her over a million miles on her sight seeing tour. They still keep up the mantra they really care about the poor folks.

The hatred towards Hilary Clinton by some folks is really dumb. Clearly they know little about her and her accomplishments and care even less. Enjoy your vitriol folks.

I have put you on ignore. No really, I have, but you are still ruining my enjoyment of this site. .

Provide a link for that 1.5 million/night travel expense so that we won't think it is a number you pulled out of your posterior.

Why not ask nicely instead of being a #######? (oh, that's right: your'e an "IRS agent"; must go with the job) :sleepy:

lostinblue was misinformed when he/she said the preznit racked up $1.5 million for his jaunt through Brussels. That was the Weekly Standard's story. Apparently the correct amount as reported by the Daily Mail is $2.9 million, and that's just for hotels & rental cars.

God forbid you should look this stuff up for yourself . . .

Expenses aren't really down the individual president. I am quite sure that Obama isn't demanding to take more people, or be housed in more luxury or use more luxurious vehicles or planes. These are the modern day costs for presidential visits. Is that outrageous? Quite probably, is it something that can be laid at the door of Obama or Democrats per se? Of course not. Articles that portray these legitimate expenses as something peculiar to Obama are nonsense. By all means take a look at the legitimate expenses and where changes can be made, I am sure most of us would welcome that but keep the partisan bull ####### out of it, for everyone's sakes.

Utter nonsense. Presidents make choices. " None so blind as them that don't bother to read the news". Of course you didn't see these news stories either:

- President Obama is officially on vacation with his family in Martha's Vineyard but apparently, there just wasn't enough room on 4,000 square feet of Air Force One for their dog Bo. Naturally, the dog was put on a separate flight.

- President Barack Obama’s much-maligned holiday vacation turned into an even bigger PR nightmare today as it emerged that he and his wife took separate government jets to Martha’s Vineyard just hours apart. Michelle Obama was revealed to have arrived at the Massachusetts retreat, only 500 miles from Washington, four hours before her husband yesterday.

- First lady Michelle Obama's trip to Spain in August 2010 cost the U.S. Air Force and the Secret Service at least $467,585, Judicial Watch reported Thursday based on documents provided by the government under the Freedom of Information Act.

- The first lady, her mother, her two kids, plus numerous White House aides and security personnel are going to tour China this month, but White House officials are refusing to say how much the taxpayers will pay for the trip. However, they did say it would be a thrill for everyone on the trip, including for Michelle Obama’s top aide, Tina Tchen.

By the way: this most recent China trip was described as some sort of 'cultural exchange' although there have been no reports of what (if anything) that entailed, as the press was refused access during this extravagant taxpayer-funded trip. Ironically enough, she apparently lectured the Chinese about "freedom of the press".

As I say, presidents make choices. Reagan used to spend Christmas in DC so his staff could spend Christmas with their families. GWB used to vacation in Crawford so the Secret Service wouldn't have to establish protocol in a new location. Obama & co., on the other hand, seem to be trying to "get away with" as much as possible while it's still on the public dime (and if there was ever a mismatched idiom, it's Obama and "dime".) :ranting:
