I see this is now part of the Application process on the I-129F form to fill out by the Petitioner

Does this mean I no longer need a Signed Letter of Intent to marry from my Fiance (Beneficiary)?

For the I-129F both need to sign a letter of intent

Letter of Intent to Marry is required both from the petitioner and beneficiary, as is a signed G-325A and passport-type photo.

Emphasis on Checklist items (required from beneficiary): #5, #9 and #10.

In the last couple years I have heard of many that bring the LOI to the interview and they don't ask for them, us included, my wife still has our in a folder somewhere. But they for sure do NOT need to be notarized.

That is just a safety valve. Definitely did not hurt and only took about 10 minutes out of my day to stop at the bank. So if I did not need the notary, no loss.

As I told Candy, I would rather she bring 100 unnecesary documents to the interview than to be missing one necesary one. So when in doubt, she wil bring it.

Just saying the embassy does not require any of the documents notarized.

Not much value in bringing any documents to the interview not listed in the embassy instructions letter, follow the instructions letter and you won't be missing any documents ;)

As the saying goes ~ Never DO-DO when DO will DO.

Good point Hank. I don't come up with documents out of whole cloth, but my thinking goes something like this: If the enbassy does not require a notary but some consular officer incorreclty requires one, I am set. If he follows the correct rule and does not require one, I wasted a grand total of 10 minutes stopping at my bank. Well worth the 10 minutes spent.

I will put money on "no CO at the embassy will ask for the LOI to be notarized, let alone the I-134" ....

Only reason I say anything is for the newbies, they may take it as truth and start running with it... then it is like those that tell a lie and expect others to believe it - tell it often and loud soon or later people think it is the truth. Have fun with the notary ;)

A few years back there were some that pushed bringing a copy of the I-129F petition to the interview, the embassy didn't list it in the instructions letter, no one was every asked for a copy by any CO at the embassy.. yet there they were pushing this "bring a copy of the I-129F" ... Then there was the "bring 3 years of tax returns", yet the embassy only asks for the most recent tax return, and will only accept the most recent tax return .... I am more of a "Dragnet" kind of guy... you know - just the facts ma'am.

Talk about a bunch of DO-DO !!

All the best with the interview. :)
