This will surely add fire to the already frayed feelings in Malaysia:

Chinese tourist and hotel receptionist kidnapped in Malaysia
Suspected insurgents from Philippines seized women from tourist resort before fleeing in speedboat, officials say
Tourists react to the sound of a gunshot in Singamata resort, Malaysia, during the raid by suspected Philippine insurgents.
A Chinese tourist and hotel receptionist have been kidnapped by suspected Filipino insurgents in Malaysia, officials say.
Six men armed with pistols are said to have raided the Singamata Reef resort late on Wednesday before fleeing in a speedboat. A police report said the Chinese victim was a 28-year-old woman from Shanghai, while the receptionist was a 40-year-old woman from the Philippines.
The kidnapping underscored the persistent security threats in Sabah state, a popular tourist destination a short boat ride from the southern Philippines, which has long been home to Muslim militants and kidnap gangs.

So tourists in a region with "persistent security threats" were kidnapped?

I am shocked.

For the longest time, Malaysia was an inexpensive and easy trip for Chinese to make. Rather surprised to see a young Chinese girl visiting a region filled with religious extremists after the disappearance of MH307.

Are you implying some sort of connection between Islamic extremism and the disappearance of MH307?

If you are, care to tell us about the information you are privy to that the rest of us are not?

Me? Why of course not. I never in my life thought history had a logical chance of repeating itself.

Not really related to the thread, but seeing the Chinese government get all bent out of shape about the lack of openness on the part of the Malaysian govt. is a little hypocritical IMO.

KUALA LUMPUR - Kidnappers holding a Chinese tourist who was abducted from a resort on Malaysia's Borneo island have made a phone call to her family in China, a senior security official said Sunday.
He said the gunmen have communicated with the family of Gao Huayuan, 29, whom Philippine security forces believe is being held in Jolo island in the southern Philippines.
"They have made telephone contact with her family," Mohammad Mentek, director-general of the security command in the east of Malaysia's Sabah state, told AFP.
The Abu Sayyaf, a small band of militants infamous for kidnapping for ransom, are the prime suspects in Wednesday's abduction of the Chinese tourist and a Filipina resort worker, Marcy Dayawan, 40.
