Technically that is the long asnwer, you are so right. But the fact remains that if you go there with only a week to go before your interview and that happens to you, then you lose your interview date. So unless you are 100% sure your period will not strike at tha ttime, don't cut it so close.

Thanks for the info on the x-rays

Good luck to all of you with the med exam, the interview and your new liife in my country with your new husbands. And a special round of good luck to my beloved Candy. Her interview is May 20, and we will do the med either May 8 or My 12 depending on when her April period strikes.

No

You cannot loose your interview date if you arrive for a medical less than 5-7 business days prior to the interview. You can still complete your interview but they will issue you a 221(g) while they wait for the medical to catch up. Once USEM has the medical in their hands, USEM will then continue your visa processing. Your delay could be one to two weeks more. So if you do not want an additional delay, complete your medical tests 5-7 business days prior to the interview.

:secret:BTW, there is an app for your smartphone that will help predict a female's menstrual cycle. Funny thing I used it for our journey because I had two females that I had to schedule around their periods. This was rocket science.

Hi all! Would like to ask y'all about when is the best time to do medical schedule?

I've read US embassy prefers 7-10 days prior to interview and I'm scheduled to be interviewed on April 22, however there are lots of holidays in April. Now here's the question. Can I do it earlier let say tom? It's about my period, I'm not sure when it will come but I'm sure it gonna be this week or early next week which will give me less time to secure medical exam for it need to be done at least one week after the menstruation.

Thanks all!!

Getting it done now is not an issue, being your period has not started yet. Don't delay!

Wow thanks that is great advice.

Everything I read told me that USEM will not interview you if St Luke has not cleared you medically. You have experienced otherwise, that they will do 221(g)? And only two weeks? It has been taking them two weeks lately just to open up their mail. Please tell me more because this is valuable info for all of us if your experience has shown you to be correct.

Still I think we all agree the best course of action is to allow enough time to get medical completed before the interview. But since the best laid plans of mice and men often go awry, if there is a way to save the interview date even if med is not complete that will be great for all of us to know.

There has been a lot of speculation on why any given embassy wants any given specific medical procedure, and it seems to vary from one embassy to another. Why they want what they want may be a good academic discussion, but it really does not matter. None of us can change anything any embassy wants. What does matter is that you do what they want, and the result is (usually) you get what you want, the visa.

No problem in having the medical in more than 7-10 days. I had mine 1 month prior to my interview. So don't worry if you're concerned that your medical results would get lost in the process, it won't.

As mentioned, old X-rays from other clinics won't matter. All the best!

Guys thank you for all the replies. So I went on to get my medical exam done today, but my period (spotting) came up when I had to pee.. Lol! Im done with the necessary procedures like X-ray, blood extraction and what not. But the nurse on the P.E section told me to come back after my period. And I asked the doctor on immunization section about my concern if I really need to come back 7 days after the last menstruation Period and She was like not necessararily 7 days but make sure you're period ended. So there I'm coming back to get my P.E done and vaccinations (hopefully) after a week.

I am glad you went today to at least get things started, and even more glad you have the time to get it done before interview day. But this is a very graphic lesson to everyone else: Unless you are absoultey 100% certain that your period will not interfere with the exam, do not cut yourself short. Allow time to come back in case your period comes up unexpectedly.

Good luck to you with getting this done and your interview, and best of luck to you with your new life in my country with your new husband.
