We just found today that our package was sent out today from the National Visa Center to the American Embassy in Bogota Colombia. How long until we get our notice from the embassy for the interview? Does it come via email? How long does the package take to get to the embassy.

We are anxious to get our timeline:)

Any info would be appreciated!!

Hi, I just found out my case was completed by NVC on 4/4/14, I just emailed the Bogota Embassy asking them how long wil it take for them to assign my appointment. Have you heard anything from them yet?

Hi,

Do you know what police records do I need to send to NVC or bring to the US Embassy in Bogota?

I think it's called "pasado judicial". If so, where I can get court records or police records in Colombia.

Hi, I sent my pasado judicial to NVC with the IV packet, and I will bring a copy of everything to the embassy for my appointment.

You can get it from here:

Hi

"I sent my pasado judicial to NVC with the IV packet, and I will bring a copy of everything to the embassy for my appointment"

Thanks for your reply.

So you don't need to notarize the copy/printer of the pasado judicial. Please let me know if NVC accepts your document "pasado judicial" from the website you posted.

Also,

Is your husband petititoning for your? I'm asking you that because I'm petitioning for my wife and stepson.

My wife application was approved and I'm waiting for my stepson application I-130 to be approved as it;s pending USCIS approval.

Gracias,

Alex

Hi, yeah, NVC did accept the printed document from the website, I already got my "case complete" from them! :D :D :D

And, yes, my husband is the petitioner. We're already waiting for an interview date to be assigned. My husband printed both the document from the website I gave you before and also from this other website:

http://siri.procuraduria.gov.co:8086/CertWEB/Certificado.aspx?tpo=2

He sent them both in and we got no problems.

que bueno.... :dancing::dancing: it's almost all done for you guys on this long journey.

. My pd is October 4th 2013 and still need to wait for 5-6 months.

I will print both documents for the websites your provided and send them to NVC with the IV package and I-864 AOS + support documents. I really thank you for that info.

Are you doing the medical examination a week before your appointment or you are doing it now?

I was telling my wife to do the medical examination a month before the interview since she lives in Pereira and we don't have any family in Bogota. Not sure how long the medical examination is good for...a month two months or three months?

Also, do you know anyone in this site that is petitioning for wife and stepson? As I mentioned before my wife petition was approved and I'm waiting for my stepson petition to be approved. I sent both applications at the same time. Not sure why they do that if my stepson is only 3 years. It's odd.

I will keep you as a friend and please share the questions they ask at the interview.

Well, about the stepson part I haven't really asked my friends here, since it is not my case and no one has mentioned that to me either, but I'll start asking around.

I'm doing the medical exam the week of the interview since flying to Bogota from Barranquilla is kind of expensive and since my father lives there, well, I dont have to worry about a place to stay at or tranportation within the city, since he has a car, or food or anything like that.

If I were closer to Bogota or the tickets were not as crazy expensive as they are I would go now and then just go now and get that over with, But I could literally buy a ticket to miami from barranquilla for the same price of the ticket to bogota lol.

And, yeah I'll share every single detail of the next steps of this endless-seem-like process.

Good luck with your case and let me know if there's anything I can help you with,

Ps. Regarding the documents for NVC the birth certificate of the beneficiary needs to be relatively new and must have the original signature of the notary, I sent one from 8 months ago with just the stamps and NVC asked for another one, so I had to pay U$60.00 to send it so they could receive it in 3 days.

And there's this new topic trending here about the taxes, if you filed your 2013 taxes as single, it's ok, it won't affect your case, my husband did so, and I called NVC and they told me it's ok, that was no problem. Just letting you know. :D

Have a happy & short Journey! :D

Hi, yeah, my interview will be next week on friday (ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh panicking!!! -lol-)

I didni't translate the pasado judicial because it's in spanish and since the embassy is in a spanish speaking country it's not necessary (I read it somewhere on the embassy's website).

Hi,

Was wondering if you got your interview date. Also, el pasado judicial printed from the two websites you gave me need to be translated in English. Correct?

Please let me know

Alex
