An excellent quote from the attorney for "True the Vote", one of the targeted conservative groups:

"All of these people, Lois Lerner, all of them, they have civil service protection and the only difference between what happened in Watergate when Richard Nixon asked the IRS to go after his political enemies was when Richard Nixon asked, they refused. When these Democratic politicians said, 'Go do something about these conservative groups because they're challenging us and we don't like what they're saying about us,' the IRS took it upon itself to do their bidding to try and silence these groups."

Day 342 of the IRS scandal. The FBI has interviewed NO witnesses, the chief suspect has had to take "the 5th" twice, Congressman Cummings is facing perjury charges, and the preznit still claims there's not even a "smidgen of corruption" there. Which is why the investigation must be stopped. <_<

Not vast, no, it's actually a conspiracy confined to those on the fringes of the right wing. If you are swayed more by emotion than facts then this sort of thing should please you greatly

Refusing to use the spellchick!

I don't think Issa has done anything other than absolutely nothing since he was elected... Nice job if you can get it...

Day 343 and Mr. Issa is still sitting all alone in that evidence room. Not a piece has turned up.

Vast right wing conspiracy

Funny 69% of Americans do not think Obama is following thru on finding out what happened

http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2014/04/17/fox-news-poll-4-think-white-house-had-irs-target-conservatives/%C2'>

Nearly half of American voters think the IRS targeted conservative groups at the request of the White House, and most want Congress to keep investigating the matter.

The latest Fox News poll also finds 69 percent don’t feel President Obama has followed through on his vow to “find out exactly what happened on this.”

By a 49-41 percent margin, voters believe the Obama administration “intentionally had the IRS target conservative political groups.” That includes 26 percent of Democrats, 52 percent of independents and 71 percent of Republicans.

Meanwhile, 67 percent of voters want Congress to keep investigating the IRS until “someone is held accountable.” An all-time high of 78 percent thought lawmakers should investigate the IRS in early June.

What we learn here once again is Americans are generally ill informed. Not sure it takes a poll to get that out into the open. I remember the polls that showed these large swaths of people - specifically among Republicans - believing that Obama was a foreign born agent of Islam out to destroy the USA. They were wrong then and they're still wrong today.

Come now.. I don't think a large percentage ever believed that?

I know, right? It's hard to believe that there could possibly be that much stupidity and utter ignorance out there and yet, there really is.

Poll: 51 percent of GOP primary voters think Obama born abroad

Or this here from teaparty.org

BIRTHERS-berinsky-data-BIRTHISM-AT-HIGH-

http://www.teaparty.org/americans-distrust-of-obama-birth-story-rises-13628/

Or here from Hotair - on a NYT poll:

NYT poll: 47% of Republicans think Obama was born in another country

And then this gem: Fully one third of conservative Republicans believed that Obama is a Muslim as recently as Jul 2012.

You can thank the biased mainstream media for that. It's deliberate. :ranting:

What exactly does this have to do with the IRS? :ot:

I keep hearing how successful Fox News is and that a majority of Americans (and a vast majority of conservatives) watch Fox News for their information. Methinks that has something to do with that particular demographic being so ill informed.

What exactly does this have to do with the IRS? :ot:

I wonder that too whenever I watch Issa's witch hunt.

I wonder if our resident "IRS agent" got a chunk of this cash? Please do come back and tell us!

IRS Awards Bonuses to 1,100 Who Owe Back Taxes

The Internal Revenue Service has paid more than $2.8 million in bonuses to employees with recent disciplinary problems, including $1 million to workers who owed back taxes, a government investigator said Tuesday.

More than 2,800 workers got bonuses despite facing a disciplinary action in the previous year, including 1,150 who owed back taxes, said a report by J. Russell George, the Treasury inspector general for tax administration.
