Yep you will have up to 6 months to enter the US, and once you are in the US you will be given 90 days to marry. So really you have about 9 months to be married once your visa is issued.

My fiancé just received his interview date. Once he is approved the documents say that he has 6 months to enter the USA.

Once he enters the USA is that when the 90 rule begins or is the 90 days included in the 6months above?

Visa validity is normally 6 months from medical. This is the allowable period to enter US, as Zedayn said.

The 90 day-rule is from date of entry. To be more specific, the actual date will be printed on the I-94, which can be accessed online after your fiance's entry to US. :)
