AOS Question - Please help, really stressed out!!

I've been browsing for the answer for this question, but too many forum topics pop up when I try searching.

I live with my mother, father (unemployed), and brother. Household size of 4. Which 125%= $29,812

My mother makes about 28,000 a year. I'm getting a job where I'll make roughly 15,000-20,000.

If she is going to be a joint sponsor, I can not combine our income to get the amount.

We file taxes separately.

How do I go about it? I don't make enough. She doesn't make enough. But combining we make enough.

But on USCIS website it states:

Joint Sponsor

A joint sponsor is someone who is willing to accept legal responsibility for supporting your family member with you. A joint sponsor must meet all the same requirements as you, except the joint sponsor does not need to be related to the immigrant. The joint sponsor (or the joint sponsor and his or her household) must reach the 125% income requirement alone. You cannot combine your income with that of a joint sponsor to meet the income requirement.

But also states:

• You may count the income and assets of members of your household who are related to you by birth, marriage, or adoption. To use their income you must have listed them as dependents on your most recent federal tax return or they must have lived with you for the last 6 months. They must also complete a Form I-864A, Contract between Sponsor and Household Member. If the relative you are sponsoring meets these criteria you may include the value of their income and assets, but the immigrant does not need to complete Form I-864A unless he or she has accompanying family members.

I think I'm just really stressed about this and I can't see the answer in front of me. Can someone please simplify this before I lose my mind.

You file i-864 and she files i-864a to combine income. U will need proof of relationship and proof of adress that u live together with mom.

Your mother doesn't claim you on your taxes right? Does she claim your brother? does your father work? Do they file taxes together?

No my mother does not claim me. My father is unemployed. He does not get unemployment. My mother claims my father and my brother. My brother doesn't work. It's only my mother and I working.
