Waiting on our NOA2 for petition i-129f, but trying to gather stuff to have ready for the next steps.Any advice on what to start getting ready would be great!!

My first question is about the Affidavit of Support. I graduated from university in December and was about to travel for a couple months to go visit my fiance and then would be back to the states in May to start my regular summer job as a sailing instructor where I make pretty good money. However this position is only seasonal and will end in September, in which case after that I was going to get a more long term job. I have filed our I-129f so hopefully this will come through this summer, however I don't think I have enough money saved up or income to show support for the i-134. My fiance who is from the UK has a job where he works from home, so he will continue to be employed throughout the whole visa process and will keep the job when he moves over here.

My question is can he use evidence from his job that he can support himself or do I need to get a cosponsor which my dad is willing to do?

My second question is about the medical and interview. My fiance is from Scotland so will have to travel to London for the medical and interview. Is this something that can be done in the same week or does he need to make multiple trips to London? I just wasn't sure how soon after the medical he would get his interview.

Thanks for the help!!

Megan

London allows self sponsorship.

When I did it it all happened on the same day, now I understand there is a gap.

Yeah there's a gap between medical and interview. Mine was one month, it's usually a bit longer but I think I got really lucky with an early interview appointment. It is a pain but I made the most of it with a day out in London after the interview. Came straight home after the medical though :P

Your fiancee really needs to think hard before he continues to work from home after he gets to the US but before he gets employment authorisation. If he continues to work, even if its from home, before he has it that may well be illegal. I know US citizen who got kicked out of the UK for exactly that.

Now I'm thinking about his job and I am kind of concerned. I can't really find anything about it. He's self employed and is contracted out by a company. He works online. So is he not allowed to do this once he's in the US? Does he need to wait until he gets his EAD? I never thought about this until now.
