Hello, I'm new here in the forum and I have some questions about my mother's F2A visa interview.

So, here's my story:

My mother went to St Lukes Clinic to have her medical exam few weeks ago, but sadly she needs to undergo some sputum tests held March 4-6, 2014 and after that she was asked to come back to the clinic yesterday (March 10, 2014).

The results of my mother's sputum tests came out negative (which I knew will be negative) and was scheduled to come back on May 7, 2014 because the sputum test needs to be cultured for 8 weeks (hoping it will be totally negative from TB).

But, my mother's visa interview is scheduled on March 17, 2014 at USEM. My mother told me that she asked some of the St Lukes personnel on what will happen with her interview, and their response was not to show up on the scheduled

interview and that the US Embassy was notified by St Lukes that my mother is still under medical evaluation.

My question is:

1. Is it true that st lukes will notify US embassy about my mother's medical status?

2. Who's going to reschedule the interview? St Lukes or us? I read some stories here in the forum that St Lukes will be the one who will reschedule after being cleared on the medical examination.

3. Will it be better if my mother will show up on the interview date without being cleared from medical examination? I mean, just to show to the embassy that my mother didn't abandon her visa petition.

Also, provided that everything will go smoothly and positively on my mother's medical examination. I was thinking about the F2A visa movement, looking back at

the previous visa movement for F2A visa category for the past year, the last retrogression happened about 3 years ago and became CURRENT last August 2013. I'm just worried that it will retrogress without warning (which happened to us before,

F3 category).

4. What are the chances that the cut-off date for May 2014 will move forward/backward?

My sincere gratitude to all who can answer my questions.

This narrative might help you. My younger brother was billed to attend an interview at the Embassy in Nigeria on an Immigrant Visa through the DV Lottery. He was unable to secure medical clearance before the interview date which was early September: only three weeks to the end of the issuance of visas for the year. So he had no option but to show up for the interview without the medical clearance. He was granted the visa subject to his providing the medical report before 30 September. At the interview, he was given a slip of paper indicating where to drop the medical report when it is ready. However, since your mother's visa category is not the same as his, I do not know if they will interview her without the medical clearance. What I would do will be to have her attend the interview without the medical clearance. She has got nothing to lose by doing so. Again, this happened in Nigeria and I do not know if the consulate in the Philippines follows the same procedure.

Hi! We experienced this with my mother too before. When she was asked to do the sputum test, and asked to wait for 8 weeks for the result ( which came out negative), I decided to reschedule her interview appointment. She didn't go on her scheduled interview and just waited for the 8 week cultivation of the sputum. I was able to pick a date 1 week after that 8 week due and she was able to get her vaccines too. The only bump that we encountered was that when she went for the interview, st Luke's had still her medical result. If the chosen interview date is close to the date of the medical exam, it's wise to just tell the people at st. Luke's that you'll hand carry the result. When is the pd of your mom? Yea it seems like retrogression is coming yet we don't know exactly which month of this spring because f2a category is kind of unpredictable. Good luck and God bless.

Thank you for response. My mother's priority date is Aug 2, 2013. I was able to talk to my mother yesterday and she told me that she asked some of the personnel there at St Lukes clinic about her appointment date. All of them said the same answer, "no show or don't go to your scheduled appointment" because apparently St Lukes notifies the embassy that my mother is still undergoing with her medical tests and they hinted my mom to think of any available date that she wanted to have her visa interview if all things get cleared, so I guess St Lukes will be the one to schedule her interview if all medical results are cleared.

Hi! It took about three weeks from the interview date until the visa was delivered to our home in Pangasinan. My

mom even went to st. Luke's after her interview and asked them to submit her medical records to the embassy. As far as I remember, she was given a paper (221g) and was told to wait for their call. They didn't ask for any other documents, didn't return her passport and was told they were just waiting for her medical results. She never gotten a call from them and just as I mentioned, it took about three weeks until she got her visa packet. Just be patient. You're almost there:)
