What happens with the I-94?

My husband will be flying alone and activating his K-3 by himself. So I'm trying to give him as much information as possible.

I assume he'll get the I-94 card at Pierson Airport (Toronto) pre-clearance. Right? He'll fill it in and give it to U.S. Customs before he boards. Yes? Is he supposed to keep anything?

Thanks.

Customs should attach the I-94 to his passport, you'll need it for filing AOS. That's all I got when I crossed. I don't know if K3's get medicals, but if they do and he didn't get a copy of the vaccination supplement, he can always ask them to make one for him.

Entering the US is really simple, you just tell the custom agents that you are activating a visa and make sure to have the envelope that the consulate gives you, and they take care of the rest. I had to pay $6 for my I-94.

Tell your husband to ask for the I-94 form when he checks in at his airline ... They have them at desks so he can fill it out prior to getting up to the customs officer ... It just makes things move faster and probably makes the customs officer a little happier ...

I went through YVR (Vancouver) but basically I filled out my I-94 ... Went up to the customs officer and told him I was activating a K-1 Visa and handed him the envelope, I-94 and my passport ... He asked a few questions took my picture and a index fingerprint and sent me to the secondary screening in customs to finish off the visa process ... After that I went through security and then off to my airplane ...
