Just wondering if i can get the US size passport photos done inside or somewhere around the embassy? i could get them done at my local shop but would prefer to have them done properly and correct.

NOA1 - APRIL 19th

They have a booth inside. But it is the same booth you get at any supermarket and victoria station. Meaning the likeliness of it working will always be questionable. Just get photos done in a machine beforehand.

Mine were not the right size (bloody chemist) but he cut them down and scanned them. If you are friendly you will be ok if they arent exactly right. Bring some pictures, seriously. You are seriously asking for a nightmare to happen.

K1 AOS:

May 22nd: Sent away AOS package Day 1

May 27th: Notification via text/email confirming receiving package. Day 5

May 29th: NOA's recieved on 29th May Day 7

June 2nd: Biometrics appointment for June 16th arrives. Day 11

June 16th: Successful Biometrics. Day 24

Thanks. The local shop here does not have a machine they do it on a camera and print them off which is my worry. I will get them done today at the shop and on monday from a machine just to be safe.

Well wait until they say the picture is no good before you print them on Monday. They take your photos at the first window. And there is a camera machine and 30 minutes between windows to get them done if absolutely necessary. Seriously worrying too much about some pictures which they scan and crop anyway.

Its ok i got them done at liverpool street station at a machine. My local shop not longer does them. Interview in the morning!

The booth inside the embassy was out of order when I was there and I've seen other people report the same. I wouldn't bet on that for reliability.

Most if the large London hub train stations have a booth.

* I-130/CR-1 visa by Direct Consular Filing in London

7th May 2013 - I-130 filed
4th June 2013 - NOA2 (approved)
16th July 2013 - Interview (approved)
30th July 2013 - POE San Francisco
29th August 2013 - 2 year green card arrived

Back in the UK I simply did them myself (well, with help from somebody else). As long as a person has a semi-decent camera and access to a printer there's no real issue. Still, I understand not everybody wants to risk it.

There's that smell again...
