Hi,

I went to the interview with my son on Feb. 18 and got the final processing letter (white one) and was asked to submit the notarized copies of his father's passport with my son's passport and visa pictures. I dropped all the docs at Citic on Feb. 24, and the status has been updated on Feb. 26.

After about ten days waiting, I checked the status on CEAC today and the status is changed into "Ready" as follows:

Case Creation Date: 01-Aug-2013 Status Updated Date: 08-Mar-2014

Your case is ready for your interview when scheduled at the U.S. Consular section. If you have already scheduled an appointment for an interview, please prepare your documents as directed in your appointment letter and appear at the consulate on the appointed date and time. Otherwise, please wait until you have been notified of your interview appointment. Additional information about how Immigrant Visa interview appointments are scheduled can be found at: http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_3731.html

Does it mean we need to interview again? If the interview is required, are we going to have to wait for our passport back?

Any suggestion will be really appreciated.

thanks

hard to say, based on your visa-chasing type (EB-2) but

for other visa types,

after the interview,

if it's only 'more documents' then another interview isn't required.

The guiding rule is a fork on 'where is the passport?'

If the passport is with the IV Unit already, then USUALLY there is not any further interview needed, since the son already had an interview (my assumption).

For clarity, you could call the NVC office on Monday, pressing option 3, and inquire with a human there. Why? CEAC status is wonky, and is sometimes wrong, even a human in GUZ IV punched a button to change the status. A human at NVC can see other things (usually).
