Hello, everyone. I wanted to share my (and my wife's) experience at the Milwaukee USCIS office where we had our AOS interview yesterday.

Background: I was on an F-1 visa, and got married to my wife in June 2013. We filed for AOS in October 2013. Our initial interview date was the 29th of January, but we postponed the interview because we were in India, having our Indian ceremony (yes, I had AP). Our rescheduled interview date was for the 4th of March.

Interview: We didn't have to wait very long once we got to the USCIS office. A very nice lady called my name, and ushered us into her office. She was smiling and put us at our ease (Thank you, nice lady!). The entire interview was like a conversation and I will list the questions she asked me and my wife.

Questions to me

1) What is your present address?

2) When was your last date of entry into the US?

3) What is your mother's first name?

4) What is your father's first name?

5) Are you still a student? (Yes, I am)

6) Standard I-485 questions (e.g. Have you ever been arrested/convicted of a crime?)

7) How long have you lived at your current address?

Questions to the both of us

1) Do you have your 2013 tax returns? (We did?)

2) How did you two meet?

Questions to my wife

1) What is your full name?

2) How long have you lived with your husband? (Almost 2 years)

She took the 2013 tax returns, and wanted to see pictures of our wedding ceremony in India (we showed her pictures of both ceremonies!)

She said she had to re run some background checks, but we should be good; we would get our green card in 2-3 weeks. She also reminded us about the conditional nature of the green card and wished us a very good day.

All in all, we were very happy (and relieved) with the interview. As of today card production has been ordered! I wanted to thank the VJ community for helping us stay sane during this very nerve-wracking time!
