I-130 waiting time and office belong

Hi, my Mom is a US citizen and she filled up the i-130 for me and my husband (i am over 21 and married).

when i put my file number its telling me that its in "Initial review" and i can check the times in another form so here my questions coming:

1. my mom filed it up in FL but how do i know if i am in TX office , CA or Nebraska???

2. i know this is not a fast process but someone have any idea how long it really take ???

3. there is anywhere that i can type in my case number and it will tell me more info??

Did your Mom get a paper copy of the NOA1? On that paper copy it should tell you what office your file is at.

How it should work is: in a few months, you will get the approval of your I-130. Then you wait however long it is until your Priority Date (which should also be printed on that hardcopy of your NOA1 (form 797C) ) becomes current. To give you an idea of when that will be, the current Priority Date for FB3 visas (married son or daughter over 21) is June 15, 2003.

So you're probably looking at 10 years or more until your case moves on to visa approval.

1. When did you receive noa1? You should get a notification that your petition has been transferred to one of those offices

3. No. Initial review is normal. It's going to stay like that until you're either approved or receive an rfe

You can sign up for email notifications on the USCIS website. This way they will email you anytime anything happens with your file. It's usually just being advised that your file is being transferred
