Hi,

Is a scanned copy of the I-134 okay to send with the 3.5 packet to the Islamabad Embassy? We would be bringing the original with us to the interview. I know this question has been asked a lot, but all the strings I keep reading are regarding the interview not the 3.5 packet itself.

I had my fiance send in the original form I-134 with the supporting documents with packet 3.5. That did the trick as the paperwork was complete and accurate for the interview. Just to be on the safe side do make copies of I-134 and it's supporting documents and keep them with you. Always beneficial to make copies!

Thanks for writing me. So the original is required with the 3.5 packet? We'd rather bring it to the interview with the other originals if possible as it would allow us to send the packet in much quicker than waiting for this one item to arrive in Pakistan.

It didn't state anywhere whether the original was required with the 3.5 packet or not. I filed for my fiance which is the K1 visa and the I-134 was optional for us. Also, I sent the original from USA via USPS. It cost me 75 dollars and was delivered within 3 days. That is pretty fast in my opinion and the 3 day wait is worth it. Better safe than sorry. I do not know whether a copy will suffice or if the original is the requirement. Sorry I couldn't be of more help.

Thanks for your advice. Unfortunately money is tight so we'd prefer to not have to spend $75 on one letter. I will be traveling there for the interview so we would have all originals at that time. I guess I will see if I can scrape the money together and send now.

Thanks again!

Update: We ended up sending in a copy of the I-134. It was accepted and we have been given an interview date!

Update: I sent the original I-134 to my fiance thinking they would at least ask for it at the interview, but they never did. Visa has been approved and no original I-134 was needed.
