HI all, I have been visiting this forum for some time and now would like to post my question to get some advise or see if someone has been in similar situation as mine.

I gained citizenship based on marriage to US citizen spouse - 3 years rule, we were married for 6 1/2 years and have a kid together. Immediatly after my naturalization (2 days) we were separated and 20 days later filed for divorce (yes we have had issues before but always reconciled, not this time though). Divorced finalized within two months of my naturalization. It was a mutual decision and based on "irreconcilable difference". During divorce process, judge asked for how long we havent had 'relation' and we said for about 5-6 months so the divorce case was finalized quickly. At the time of Naturalization process, including Oath ceremony, I was living in same house hold with no divorce case pending, still was thinking that we will reconcile again. On Divorce decree, it states the date of separation as the date when I moved out, post Oath ceremony.

Now its been over 2 years since divorce, I would like to get remarried and sponsor my future wife. Would I be running into any kind of issues? I am in good terms with my ex and she is willing to testify, if needed, that we were still together up until the point i had my oath.

I will appreciate any input/advise in this regards. Thanks

I'm in similar situation just filed last month. This post below is close to our situation and it was approved at USCIS level.Seems like things went OK at the embassy level because the person didn't post any other questions smile.png

Thanks imse82. This is great, I read through the entire post and it looks very positive for a case like mine. I was just concerned even my previous marriage was a legitimate one and I have a kid with my previous wife and paying child support. its unfortunate that the marriage didnt work out but now I would like to restart my life. I will be submitting I-130 in next couple of months for my future wife and planning to stay overseas for a few months.
