how long does it take to wait for NOA?

I filed everything as a package to US Citizenship and Immegration Service ,Chicago, IL.

I wonder how long does it take to wait for NOA. I didnt check the processing time of each district office before filing my application since it doesn't seem to leave me any other options( in I-130 , it says that to file -130 concurrently with I-130, send everything to Chicago) .I have been waiting for NOA but haven't heard anything . I checked the processing time in the website, the Chicago office is still processing the AOS applications of Nov 2004 :(

If anyone who filed the package to Chicago can let me know how long it takes to get the NOA, that will be very appreciated.

If I knew earlier that the Chicago office is the slowest office, I would have file the I-130 separately to a service center. Is there a way to cancel the application we send out ? Any advice? Thanks a lot!

If you file 1-485 and I-130 concurrently, then processing time for I-130 does not matter much. I-130 petition will be adjudicated at the same time as I-1485. And you do not have a choice where to file -- all go to Chicago lockbox. I-485 processing times at your local office do not tell you much either, since the dates listed have very little to do with what cases they are actually processing. Someone mentioned that they are listing the oldest cases they are processing; in my case, the published dates were at least 6 months off. As far as NOAs, you should get them within 2 weeks of filing. Hope this helps!

09-02-2005 Applications for AOS, EAD, and AP received by MSC

10-21-2005 AOS fingerprint notice for 12-08-2005

11-07-2005 AP approved

12-05-2005 Infopass appt at San Jose office for interim EAD -- Refused, because it is already approved by MSC on 11-07-2005

12-07-2005 Attempt at interim EAD at San Francisco office -- no go. Back to San Jose, where CSO (chief station officer) tells they will contact MSC via email to request permission to issue interim EAD

12-08-2005 Biometrics for AOS and EAD. Having no EAD appt letter was no problem (used EAD NOA)

12-15-2005 EAD arrived in the mail

12-24-2005 Received interview letter; interview scheduled 03-01-2006

01-28-2006 Received replacement SSN card in married name (5 wks since application)

03-01-2006 AOS interview -- approved; received stamp in the passport

03-13-2006 Green card arrived in the mail

ussually they send NOA1 within 2 weeks and NOA2 depents how many applications they have for the same case... :thumbs::unsure:

**K-1 VISA**

*07.29.05 sent package i-129f to california

*08.02.05 recveived NOA1

*10.17.05 received NOA2

*11.01.05 colombia's embassy received package

*12.05.05 interview date

*12.06.05 recieved VISA

*12.20.05 came to U.S.A!!!!

*12.28.05 applied for a Social Security

*01.05.06 received Social Security card =)

*02.11.06 married....

**AOS**

*03.01.06 sent package for AOS & EAD

*03.03.06 package arrived at unit (Chicago,il 60699)

*03.18.06 NOA1 for AOS & EAD (notice date 03.08.06)

*04.15.06 he had his Biometric taken

*04.17.06 EAD & AOS touched

*05.03.06 AOS touched again & case transfered to CALIFORNIA.

*05.12.06 EAD APPROVED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

*05.16.06 AOS touched again!!!!!

*05.17.06 EAD approval notice mail it, from USCIS office...and AOS touched again....

*06.12.06 AOS APPROVED

*06.19.06 we received my husband's GREEN CARD!!!!!!!!!
