I-485 and Part 3 Q 15,16 and 18 with military service

Looking for a little advice here.

I served in the HM Air Force (UK) for 12 years.

I understand I have to say YES to questions 15 (a) and 18.

However question 16 has me a little confused.

16. Have you EVER been a member of, assisted in, or participated in any group, unit, or organization of any kind in which you or other persons used any type of weapon against any person or threatened to do so?

Now during my 12 years serving I carried out MANY guard duties on unit in the UK and in Afghanistan. On this duty if anything/anybody is suspicious you give a verbal warning, weapon in position.............would this be considered as threatening to do so????

I would also assume " member of, assisted in, or participated in any group, unit or organization " a military force would be considered to fall under this.

I have already answered this on question 15.

Can any members offer their advice or experiences here, much appreciated....

16. Yes. Explain the circumstances. Even if you didn't do it personally your organization did and you were a member.

It's okay to say yes. Not a reason for denial in your circumstances.

Sounds fine to me. My husband put his actual duties and a little more information. He was not questioned about it. Not sure what the threshold is for explanation required.
