Vj peoples ,

Just curious if this is the normal process ? here is what happened for removing conditions for my wife Paid my fees for removal of conditions sent in our package and only got a letter saying her existing green card was extended for 1 year and to go to our Baltimore Maryland ASC center for another round of biometrics and photo’s we did that all on January 3rd 2014 . Since that date now 02/27/2014 we have not received anything ?.. seems to be taking a lot longer than her 1st green card that we got a week after her initial biometrics and photos . Is this normal to take so long ?... any insight is appreciated , thank you in advance

Uh, yes, it's very normal. We waited nearly 9 months for our GC. Please check current timelines. It is unrealistic to expect it in less than a month.

Biometrics has nothing to do with the overall timeline of GC issuance. Sounds like you were lucky the first time.

Edit: I just checked your timeline and it says you got the GC four (4) months after the biometrics.

you can join a monthly filers thread and see current progress from people who filed in the same month as you. Good luck.

wow for the $600.00 they charge i fugigured the good old U S of A would print that thing off and mail it out , looks like im wrong.. I recieved the I-797 NOA saying that her Green card is extened for 1 year , not sure about her passport being stamped with a I-551 ( will have to check ) is she good to travel on just the letter saying her GC was extened ? I need a warm beach and some drinks with little umbrellas asap and USA beaches just dont do it for me ?.. can she travel out of USA just based on that letter ? orig green card was surrendered at the biometrics appt

GC was surrendered at bio appointment? That's not right.

She is supposed to travel on expired GC + original extension letter.

Now, she will have to get a I-551 stamp in her passport instead for travel/work.

I think they are going faster than 9 months now, but still a while.
